The Performance Improvement Manager will generate value with ensuring performance improvement initiatives deliver profitability and safety results. They will contribute to increasing expertise and know how in RMX business units across the globe and facilitate best practice sharing. Working alongside with related RMX business functions Sales and Marketing and Quality Control to further improve through a variety of processes and tools developed by the RMX department.

The Performance Manager is in charge of the improvement of the production and distribution elements within the RMX product line in the portfolio of operating companies and developing new programs that would assist with that goal.

  • improves the RMX operations on Health & Safety matters while at plant and in operations
  • ensures application of state of the art standards in plant design, including safety design and plant layout
  • improves plant reliability, plant productivity and reduce variable and fixed production cost
  • assists the operating units in maintaining good housekeeping and preventative maintenance
  • optimizes capital needs in mix ready production through optimized sustaining CAPEX, sourcing from equipment suppliers offering lowest cost of ownership
  • Use and analyze operational KPIs to drive change in the operating Countries
  • Good understanding of RMX operations and Operational KPIs and use the knowledge to drive change in the countries through action plans
  • Able to conduct footprint reviews within the operating Countries for RMX
  • Understand the strategic relevance of RMX within the operating Country
  • Manage the implementation of Operational Reviews for business turnarounds
  • Support in other corporate projects and analytics.


  • Promote Health and Safety throughout all levels of LafargeHolcim RMX businesses and discuss improvements and or compliance issues immediately
  • Ensures that all plant, equipment and processes and design standards comply with LafargeHolcim Safety road map and guidelines


  • Analyze complex RMX business situations and develop concepts and ideas to improve the actual performance of RMX business units, markets, and or regions
  • Carry out and organize Operational Reviews and other improvement projects throughout the LafargeHolcim RMX businesses. Support the implementation of action plans and sustainability of Operational Reviews including continuous improvement of tools and methodology used
  • Use Operational KPIs to drive change through action plans in the Operating countries
  • Able to conduct footprint review of the RMX
  • Train, support and coaching of local teams and business units
  • Contribute to the knowledge sharing of best practices in RMX globally within LafargeHolcim
  • Lead and/or support the development of new tools and methodologies and the continuous improvement of existing tools and processes. analyzes the technical status of plants and plant networks, their capabilities to serve the target market in terms of volume output and product range
  • Identifies bottlenecks in plants and suggests plans to improve plant productivity and enhancement of plant capabilities, in particular with respect to VAP production


  • Promote (active leadership behavior) Occupational Health and Safety throughout all levels LargeHolcim businesses
  • Be an active member of the RMX team and engaged in other product lines
  • Lead and/or support of Performance Improvement projects such as Operational Reviews
  • Lead and/or support the development of new tools and methodologies and the continuous improvement of existing tools and processes
  • Support to any Performance Improvement and Business Development Project for the function
  • Develop, lead and/or support of the RMX course and or any other training platform
  • Organize, support and/or lead workshops as required.
  • Support and assist the transfer of knowledge and best practice within LafargeHolcim
  • Networking and development of a close working relationship with Group RMX businesses and RMX experts globally.

    • 51mio m3 of RMX globally in over 50 countries

  • Key interfaces, stakeholders and relationships:
    • Liaise with corporate and operational staff in a variety of roles including but not limited to: RMX Heads in Countries, Sales Managers, Plant Managers, Controllers, Human Resource personnel, LafargeHolcim customers and external stakeholders

  • Level of education/qualifications normally required:
  • University degree in Engineering required
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration preferred

  • >5 years operational experience preferably in RMX or other related construction industry
  • Have conducted and lead Performance Improvement review of companies
  • Operational and Distribution knowledge in RMX is a must

  • Technical / functional skills:
  • Generalist of RMX knowledge with knowledge of AGG and CEM and advantage
  • Ability to identify basic and complex improvement opportunities and execute accordingly
  • MS Office proficiency, especially with PowerPoint and Excel
  • Behavioural competencies:

  • Analytical skills and ability to transfer into tangible results

  • Linguistic skills:
  • English, oral and written
  • German, French, and Spanish would be an advantage
  • Mobility requirements (time spent travelling internationally, nationally etc.):
  • 30-50% travel requirement, mainly international
