Job Description

Position Summary:

This role has primary responsibilities of managing Product Development and Commercialization (PDC) Damper programs in North America. Responsible for ensuring that PDC programs achieve the desired results by meeting timing, cost, and quality objectives while complying with all applicable regulatory constraints and related company procedures. The position also requires working directly with customers including their NVH Engineering, Project Engineering and Purchasing contacts. Additional responsibilities include supporting the Center of Competency (CoC) in managing product change requests within Global Project Management System (GPS), as well as management of other significant projects and activities as required in support of overall CoC business goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the PDC process and programs for the Damper CoC to achieve successful product launches, provide customer satisfaction and meet current year and pipeline business targets.
  • Interface globally with KB functions including Engineering, Purchasing and Industrial Engineering.
  • Interface with customers to determine requirements for a successful new product introduction
  • Maintain updated status of CoC growth projects and ensure that data loaded into the STRONG FOCUS tool is accurate for all projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with CoC Finance representatives on pricing, cost and capital expenditures on all projects to ensure all schedules, critical milestones and targets are met.
  • Create and manage business cases for multiple projects/programs.
  • Accountable for resolution of critical issues during the entire life cycle of the project/product programs.
  • Provide oversight of multiple cross-functional teams to coordinate activities and deliver programs per plan.
  • Coordinate and prepare required PDC phase reviews, and deliver presentations to Leadership Team.
  • Ensure that the teams deliver on commitments to both internal and external customers
  • Support or manage product change requests and be an active participant on the change review board (CRB) as required
  • Support product life cycle management strategy and implementation.
  • Support the STRAP, MOP and Annual Goal Tree plans jointly within the CoC

  • Self-starter, able to analyze and determine overall direction and specific tasks in support of plan with minimal direction.
  • Excellent presentation skills at multiple organization levels.
  • Strong mindset to establish contingency plans and alternative actions to ensure overall project and program goals are met.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Project and build data-driven credibility and presence and confidence with customers and within the organization.
  • Ability to build relationships and manage conflicts, both internal and external.
  • Understanding of major functional and cross-functional business processes and related metrics - Engineering, Operations, Financial, Purchasing, Marketing and Sales
  • Exceptional capability in Microsoft Project
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint at a minimum)

Required Experience

  • Five years business experience in industrial segment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results in a matrix organization in which conflicting prioriti
