Position Description:
This position reports directly (solid line) to the Director, Project Management – AMSS, and in matrix (dotted line) to the Regional Operations Director.
Principal accountabilities:
+ Develop a strategic partnership with the Customer, and act as primary single point of contact assigned projects working across disciplines, regions, and other platforms to manage the customer experience
+ Support project teams to prepare key project management documents during execution
+ Ensure contractual requirements are understood and reflect what has been negotiated, through effective Pass Gates 1 & 2
+ Review project contractual documents and provide detailed inputs to order fulfillment and commercial operations
+ Accurately forecast project delivery date(s), cash flow, revenue, profitability, margins, on-time performance, past due backlog, and utilization. Track progress toward approved project budget
+ Ensure on-time and accurate invoice submission after all applicable invoicing requirement and/or contractual milestones have been fulfilled
+ Monitor on-time cash collection and track Percent of Completion as per Flowserve policy
+ Understand both process-based and deliverables-based Work Breakdown Structures and their applications. Demonstrate ability to translate work breakdown structure into activity-based schedules, identify critical path, and track progress towards completing critical milestones
+ Ensure Project specifications and Ts & Cs are flowed down to suppliers as appropriate and support management of critical suppliers, including holding vendor Kick Off Meetings when necessary on critical path or high specification items
+ Ensure routers and vendor P.O.s include necessary contractual terms and specification requirements when they are released
+ Develop and document communication plans both internally and externally
+ Work with all involved disciplines to ensure scope of supply is delivered on time, on budget, per contract and with the utmost quality
+ Coach and mentor site-based Project Coordinators within the assigned sub-region and support use of available Project Management tools and best practices
+ Support Project Estimators / Applications Engineers during quote generation as necessary
+ Identify and manage risk, then develop and track contingency plans during all project phases. Capitalize on opportunities to obtain change orders. Ensure any changes to the contract are documented, approved, and addressed in the appropriate manner – usually in writing. Follow Risk Management procedure CORP- AMSS-3009.
+ Attend and represent the project during customer Kick Off Meetings
+ Develop effective Project Execution Plans, with support from Global AMSS Project Management Team, audit compliance to them, and be ready to edit as needed
+ Seek out stakeholders and obtain their support for assigned projects, then identify and negotiate necessary resources with management
+ Lead Phase Gate and Project Review Meetings using Pass Gate Procedure CORP-AMSS-3006
+ Capture, document, and address lessons learned as they occur. Be prepared to share these both internally and externally
+ Understand and identify Customer intellectual property when presented, and ensure protection of sensitive Customer data (technical, commercial, or otherwise)
+ Understand Flowserve’s and clients’ ethical standards and set the example by demonstrating sound business ethics within the company
+ Support and manage intracompany warranty jobs when assigned to ensure high customer satisfaction and engagement and per Flowserve Warranty handling procedure
Position Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering desired with BSME preferred
2. 3+ years of Project Management experience and 5+ year experience with rotating equipment
3. PMP, Prince 2, or equivalent is preferred
4. Demonstrated Project Management experience with an industrial rotating equipment background. Related experience as a Project Engineer may be considered
5. Experience working in a rotating equipment repair, re-rate, or upgrade environment is highly desired
6. Demonstrated experience working in a customer-centric environment with the ability to meet both customer and company expectations on orders
7. Demonstrated commitment to effective, standardized Project Management. Can motivate, coach, and influence team members without direct authority and within a matrix environment.
8. Knowledge of fundamentals of Project Management with a high proficiency in project management tools, software and concepts. Demonstrated ability to improve process and best practices.
9. Excellent English language communication skills both written and oral. Comfortable leading internal and external project meetings with stakeholders at various levels of organizations.
10. High proficiency in project management tools, software (MS Project), and concepts. Demonstrated ability to analyze processes and to provide suggestions for improvement.
11. Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
12. Excellent estimating, scheduling, and budgeting skills.
13. Highly organized with proven leadership skills and the ability to achieve objectives with minimal direction.
14. Moderate to occasionally high amounts of travel may be required.
15. Willingness to work outside standard office hours and on weekends on occasion during Customer outages, emergencies, turnarounds, or period of heavy backlog.
Preferences:
Previous experience in Aftermarket environment.
Previous experience in oil, gas, water, mining or heavy industrial/manufacturing sectors.
