Job Description

As a Project Manager in our Physical Design Group (PDG), you are responsible for managing Physical IP development Projects. Our Project Managers serve as a focal point in the development of our physical IP products and are key members of the team ensuring successful product development across multiple projects and multiple design center geographies. Instrumental in helping to track and drive PDG quarterly revenue goals for our Physical IP Projects, and a key enabler of Arm business and operations processes.

Our engineering team delivers advanced physical IP solutions for implementation of complex SoC designs. Your work will support products such as: logic IP, Standard Cell, Embedded Memory Compilers, Interface IP and Processor Optimization Pack (POPs); which optimized across a range technologies from 250nm to the most advanced semiconductor processes for foundries and IDMs. Arm PDG products are the most widely used in the industry. Giving you the opportunity to work on major IP platform development with state of the art leaders in the semiconductor and electronics industries.

Job Requirements

What will I be accountable for?

Collaborating with engineering leaders, your responsibility is to drive and oversee activities that deliver groundbreaking Physical IP products. From product specifications, running project timelines, to product delivery to our customer, you are diligent on all project information needed in order to execute contracts and achieve project and Project success.

  • Lead cross-discipline, multi-site development teams in planning, defining project and resource allocations to meet business and quality objectives
  • Create and manage plan for communication with customers, teams and other key internal and external partners
  • Responsible for projects executed in a consistent fashion following PDG processes and workflows
  • Understand Project and contract objectives, ensure that project requirements are gathered and communicated accurately through execution of the projects
  • Manage division risks and issues; drive/coordinate identification, mitigation, and resolution.
  • Promote co-operative environment that challenges teams while ensuring independence and impartial assessment of projects and project managers
  • Liaise with customers to present progress, review risks, agree actions and define any contract variances and change orders
  • Support the management team in achieving PDG and company targets and objectives
  • Project revenue management reporting and forecasting for the finance and management team
  • Manage contract amendments with product marketing, licensing, and account management
  • Involved in steering committees and other activities driving improvements

Job Requirements:        

What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

Bachelors Degree major in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, Masters in Business Administration or equivalent would be desired 

6+ years experience in semiconductor IP development or related field. Logic library development experience would be preferred .

  • Understanding of SoC design techniques, trends and challenges
  • Exposure to the semiconductor manufacturing processes and application to IP development
  • Commercial awareness of the physical IP market and major related companies helpful and desired
  • Practical skills and proficiency with Unix
  • Project Leadership/Project management
  • Leading project and ensuring successful execution of the projects.
  • Experience in project management methods and techniques i.e. Gantt Chart, Project Lifecycle Management, Risk Management
  • Competent with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, One Note …)
  • Expertise with project management tools e.g. Microsoft Project or Equivalent would be desired.
  • PMP Certification desired
