Why this role matters


The role holder will be responsible for the project management of medium/large projects and potentially complex Trading & Command (TC) technology implementation projects in APAC. The role holder will be accountable for the delivery of projects to time, cost and quality for multiple global customers and will own the customer relationship. The portfolio of projects that the role holder will be accountable for will consist of a mix of BT and IP Trade products.


They will work at a medium technical level within customer organisations (For example Voice IT Managers) and will own the relationship with such stakeholders for all aspects of the delivery element for the duration of the project. The role holder will also lead the virtual team of engineering resource responsible for delivering against the defined project plan. The role holder will also be responsible for smaller less complex work as customer orders dictate.


The role holder will ensure that robust forward resource planning is in place for the engagement of Operational and 3 rd party resources required to meet project deliverable. The role holder advocates and effects change by influencing decision makers and persuading operational people to adopt different working practices.

While the focus will be project delivery, the role holder will also support the Sales team during demonstration with customers or technical implementation meetings.

What you'll be doing

  • The planning and management of the technical delivery elements within medium/large sized TC system projects
  • Is likely to manage multiple small to medium sized projects at the same time
  • Defined management responsibilities for the work of multi-disciplinary, virtual workforce and/or external sub-contractors where applicable
  • The ability to build and own key relationships with the customer, stakeholders and project personnel as required
  • The identification and the management of risk associated with the technical solution being delivered
  • The evaluation of situations using multiple sources of information. Solution may require some new planning and additional resource elements
  • Will, based upon UT technology knowledge or the development thereof, provide support to the UT sales community for pre sales activities including design of appropriate technical solutions.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Language: fluent in spoken and written English
  • 5+ years of experience in successfully leading projects and programs (including tracking and planning) to on-time, on-schedule and within budget close
  • 5+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment
  • Networking knowledge (i.e. routers and switches) and a strong understanding of VoIP products are important (i.e. various types of IP based voice products –CUCM, Communications Manager 7.x and higher, Voice Recording, as well as legacy voice PBX vendors/products.)
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
