  • Based in Wagga, Yass or Eastern Creek

The Opportunity 
This is an exciting opporutnity for am ambitious and self-driven individual to partner with the Senior Program Managera and Program Managers to ovesee the the delivery of projects across TransGrid’s network. This role will require sound project management experience to ensure that projects are completed to appropriate technical, work health & safety, environmental, budget, time, statutory and quality standard requirements.
Job Overview
Reporting to the Program Manager, in this role you will: 

  • Manage the execution of all phases of the project to achieve completion within agreed budget, time and accepted quality standards. This will require time on site
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant financial requirements
  • Analysis and management of project schedules and program
  • Monitor and report to management on project progress, cost and performance against program and budget targets using corporate tools
  • Prepare specifications, establish and manage contracts
  • Negotiate with contractors and monitor contractor performance
  • Manage contract risk and liabilities
  • Recommend suitable tenders following examination of offers against technical and commercial conformance to specifications
  • Work and operate in a manner which supports the Health and Safety outcomes of our people and our business. The Health and Safety Management System is available on the intranet or upon request, and provides a comprehensive list of general responsibilities, accountabilities and authorities for all positions including managers, team leaders and employees

To be considered for the position, you will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in either Electrical or Civil Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Project management qualifications are highly desirable
  • Experienced in the management of projects, and includes investigation, specification preparation, construction management and contract administration
  • High standard of communication and report writing skills, personal integrity and professionalism
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards, TransGrid Policies and Procedures and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of transmission line and substation projects
  • High level interpersonal skills to clearly convey ideas including complex technical issues to inform, influence and persuade or direct the work of others both verbally and in written form is required.
  • An ability to understand and interpret drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to assess time/cost/labour estimates for projects and services.
  • Experience with Corporate IT applications
