Senior Project Officer (multiple positions)

  • $98,396 – $119,052 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed term / 6 months
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)

The position of Senior Project Officer forms a part of Working for Victoria Group. Working for Victoria has been established to help Victorians, including people who have lost their jobs due to the economic impacts of COVID19, find work. The group is responsible for implementing the $500 million economic and job stimulus program aimed at maximising job creation in a timely manner; creation of a pipeline of jobs across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors; administering the Fund and executing grant agreements; managing the Sidekicker platform that facilitates job matching, screening and shortlisting employers and job seekers; and regular reporting to the department executive, the Minister's Offices and strategic communications groups.

The Senior Project Officer reports to the Manager of Projects. This role helps coordinate and implement the suite of projects and relationships within the Operations team to deliver a swift and valuable response to Working Victoria's mission and purpose. This role is also relied upon to provide advisory capacity to the Project Manager and the wider taskforce, an analytical mindset, problem solving ability and strong systems capabilities will be required.

To be successful in this role you will need a demonstrated ability to manage and deliver projects through stakeholder engagement. You will have a collaboration mindset and interest in using innovative techniques to deliver projects. You will be driven to improve employment opportunities and outcomes for Victorians in support of economic recovery. Most importantly you will be excited by a role that will be instrumental in helping with the establishment of a new Group focussed on building a stronger, fairer and more inclusive Victoria and how we can best set the Group up for success.

The key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and provide relevant information and advice about the Branch's direction, issues, identified risks and requirements to ensure appropriate information flow.
  • Coordinate and manage the implementation of key projects and work programs, develop project plans, monitor project performance against objectives, manage risks and issues and evaluation ensuring that objectives and reporting requirements are delivered on time.
  • Preparation quality complex reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence for diverse stakeholders and senior decision makers.
  • Work collaboratively with clients and the wider team to understand business processes, issues and priorities and develop plans to mitigate risk and problem solve.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the successful delivery of projects across the engagement team.
