The National Transplantation & Immunogenetics Service Team is responsible for providing a tissue typing matching service for solid organ and bone marrow transplantation patients; typing donors for the Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry; providing an immunogenetics diagnostic service and the provision of matched platelets. About the role
A 12 month fixed term full time opportunity to join our Transplantation and Immunogenetics Services team reporting directly into the VTIS Quality Senior Scientist. You will be based at our Processing Centre in Melbourne (VIC) located close to the CBD, with access to close by public transport. Your core focus is to provide compliance & change support to the TIS laboratories working closely with those teams nationally across all of TIS. You will ensure the laboratories meet quality and regulatory compliance requirements for routine work and introduction of change.
• Prepare and assist with documentation for regulatory accreditation compliance across the TIS laboratories
• Provide change support for the introduction of new technologies and processes
• Utilise analysis and data to identify opportunities for improvement based on specialist and technical expertise
• Maintain systems and processes to support compliance requirements
• Participate in & support audits & follow up & maintain material specification documentation
• Assist with preparation of validation work plans, documents and reports
• Liaise with TIS Senior Scientists to update change processes & validation work plans
Skills & Capabilities
• Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree
• Ability to liaise nationally & independently with a diverse group of scientific & technical staff
• Extensive audit experience, understanding of laboratory compliance and quality systems
• Demonstrated experience in gathering, collating and analysing data to produce reports and documents
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated computing experience using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access) and e-mail/internet competence
• Ability to work under pressure & have excellent problem solving skills
• Able to adapt to change in a regulated environment
