Nanolog is Zscaler’s big data stack. Nanolog uses patented technology to reduce log volume by 10 to 50 times with several compression techniques. Not only does the platform collects and store logs, it also provides rich real-time analytics capabilities that power a variety of dashboards for customers. Customers are empowered to discover and analyze all their traffic that flows through Zscaler’s distributed proxy network in real-time. The platform also caters to the data mining requirements of Zscaler’s security research team who scour through the mountain of data always on the lookout for new threats emerging on the internet. The data-mining platform is also purpose-built using map-reduce techniques and exposes a SQL-like query language. For those customers who like to have a copy of these logs, the Nanolog platform can also stream these logs in real-time from Zscaler’s cloud to the customer's premises.

Position: Lead QA Engineer/ Staff Software Engineer 

Location: Chandigarh, India

Responsibilities:

As part of Cloud Quality and Reliability team you will be responsible for the functional and system testing of various features and solution of the Zscaler cloud:

• Design & develop test plans for Zscaler's cloud logging and reporting platform.
• Develop Programs/scripts using Python and perl for test automation development.
• Design, develop and extend the automated testing frameworks.
• Reviewing the programs & scripts developed by team members.
  
• Debugging and troubleshooting issues within Zscaler products running on Unix systems.
• Solve problems and establish plans and provide technical consultation in the design, development and test effort of Zscaler engineering projects.
• Review product specifications and write the test case, develop test plans for assigned areas.
• Identifies issues and technical inter-dependencies and suggests possible solutions.
• Assist in development and delivery of training to cross-functional teams.
• Recreate complex customer and production reported issues in QA Lab.
• Providing technical leadership to the QA team.
  
• Driving innovation and adoption of new technologies to test Zscaler cloud platform and improve the quality.
  
• Work with product and development teams to understand product vision and requirements and develop QA approaches that fit product architecture & goals.

• B.Tech. degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of QA & automation experience within Bigdata systems, Networking and/or Security space.
• Experienced in automation framework development & test automation in Python (preferred) and/or perl.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS and computer Networking.
• Working knowledge of Unix and shell scripting.
• knowledge of BigData Systems, Data analytics and SQL queries.
• Very good debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Experienced in testing distributed systems.
• QA experience in Cloud platform and services is desired.
• Previous experience in mentoring/leading QA engineers and projects is desired.
