With us, you’ll experience Impact. The Quality Analyst position sits in the Data Services Tribe within the Technology & Data Group,headed up by Chris Venter.The mission of Data Services is to make it easy to leverage REA data.
The Consumer Insights & Analytics (CIA) squad is responsible for capturing and managing the billions of data points each month from our consumer audience, which are used by teams across REA for data science, customer reporting, business intelligence, and consumer-facing experiences within our web & app ecosystem.
They also provide engineering support to our Tagging & Analytics team, who are responsible for tag management (Tealium iQ) and product & marketing analytics (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics) capabilities.
What you’ll be doing
As a Quality Analyst, you will be responsible for working with the squads to ensure stability, availability and reliability of data, production services and data platform through planning and execution of appropriate testing. You will coach and support an entire squad of developers, data engineers, analysts and product managers with testing best practices to ensure quality is built and inherent to team delivery. You will serve as the quality champion of the team and will help implement agile software delivery practices such as shift left testing, automation and continuous integration. You will also work with other QAs in the tribe to build a quality framework that will contribute to the success of the tribe’s mission.
+ Coaching the team to embrace a shift-left approach to testing
+ Defining test strategies for batched and/or streamed data pipeline projects
+ Identify key quality checks required in data pipelines and pair with developers during implementation
+ Identify risks in projects and technical solutions
+ Liaising with product managers and business analysts to ensure that planned testing meets their requirements
+ Collaborating with immediate squad and/or squad/s across the business to execute the test strategy
+ Coordinate and execute different types of tests required for new products and their enhancements
+ Contributing to the Quality Analysis community of practice for REA Group
Who we’re looking for:
Skills & attributes
+ Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.
+ Advanced software, technical and testing knowledge.
+ Demonstrated skills in defining and implementing testing strategies for data pipelines using complex platforms.
+ Demonstrated skills in SQL across different tools and languages.
+ Able to be effective in a collaborative team environment.
+ Able to mentor and coach other team members.
+ Have a positive, can do attitude and is comfortable with a bit of unknowns.
+ 5+ years of experience working in software testing and quality assurance
+ Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or similar highly desirable
+ Experience in testing batched or streamed data pipelines
+ Experience in building automation frameworks for data pipelines
