The Role 

The Quality Assurance Engineer at Willis Towers Watson serves as an integral member of a global Agile Product Development team to design, build, test and deliver Willis Towers Watson’s technology products to our external or internal clients. This role works with Willis Towers Watson’s proprietary and/or industry-leading systems and applications and ensures that these are designed and built according to agreed-upon technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Uses the Product Backlog to remain highly flexible and respond to changing realities and requirements.
  • Adds business value by delivering working products, with quality and on time.
  • Works with the team in assessing opportunities to strengthen definition of done and get us closer to delivering working software at the end of every sprint.
  • Self-organizes and applies cross-functional competencies to create high-value products.
  • Works with other team members to adopt Agile Scrum with the goal of improving software development practices and creating high standards of work.
  • Advocates improving quality during all stages of software development.
  • Constant pursuit of improving team velocity and efficiency, allowing effective release planning and diagnostics for the team.
  • Creates high quality acceptance tests from acceptance criteria and quality standards that help the scrum team understand the value of the user story from the user's perspective.
  • Maintain ISO9001 and ISO27001certification.
  • Achieve all Green Marks in the Willis Towers Watson Professional Excellence Review.
  • Works closely with Team to ensure execution against the highest value “Done” Product Increments.
  • Passionate commitment to developing high quality products within agreed-upon release dates.
  • Self-manages towards development and innovation, guided by the stakeholders’ expectation.
  • Contributes to team innovation activities, requested prototyping or research and development activities.
  • Understands and embodies the Product vision and business needs for a successful, low-defect, on-time product release
  • Escalates requests to Program Management for program level risks and investments.
  • Ensures that development effort is billed appropriately to maximize spend that can be capitalized.
  • Builds and supports a culture of trust and transparency where collaboration is fostered within the Scrum teams and with the Program and Product Managers to work towards a common business goal.
  • Supports team members, both locally and globally.

  • Actively advances QA technical skills through participation in online, instructor-led or self.-taught training.
 

The Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in a technology related discipline, such as IT or Engineering
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of SDLC process. Experience in Agile/Scrum framework is required.
  • Creates test scenarios from functional requirements and/or User Stories using the Gherkin format
  • Converts manual test steps into repeatable automated tests for Regression testing
  • Manages time effectively by placing the right focus on value added operations
  • Working knowledge of the following technologies: JavaScript, Ajax, Jquery, CSS, XLM, Angular, load balancing, single/multi tenancy, and rational database design concepts
  • Beginner knowledge in profiling an application and profiling concepts
  • Beginner SQL skills in tuning/optimization of T-SQL and database optimization
  • Fluency in the programming language C#
  • Intermediate knowledge of using development tools such as Visual Studio and SQL Management Studio
  • Intermediate skills in API based automated test development
  • Intermediate skills in writing T-SQL
  • Intermediate Skills in Unit Testing
  • Intermediate knowledge of tools and techniques used in manual testing
  • Advanced skills in UI automated test development
  • Advanced knowledge of tools and techniques used in manual testing
  • Deeply understands practices of agile software development
  • Willing to work on either morning, midshift and nightshift
