mlcoa is a national provider of independent medical assessments (IME's) and advisory services to insurers, government departments, self-insured companies and the legal profession. We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual who thrives in a busy and fast paced environment to lead our quality assurance teams.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for managing, supervising and leading the Victorian quality team. This role will also be responsible for the coordination and delivery of quality systems and functions that support the various operations which deliver independent medical assessments (IMEs) and related products.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting the delivery of quality and timely IME reports and related products
  • Leading and managing a team responsible for undertaking quality reviews of IME reports in accordance with the national quality framework
  • Understanding the requirements of achieving monthly budget targets and coordination of team to achieve workload
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with consultants and other key stakeholders
  • Reviewing and evaluating consultant reports to verify report compliance with specific customer and/or legislative specifications
  • Ensuring the QA team are trained in the QA functions and understand customer requirements
  • Identifying inaccurate, deficient or incomplete reports and discussing with consultants all issues that need to be checked and/or further clarified
  • Monitoring and reviewing monthly performance against KPI benchmarks and implementing development plans as required
  • Accurately invoicing customers in line with protocols
  • Managing corrective actions, process improvements and auditing projects

To be considered for this role you will have:
  • Experience in understanding case management practices relating to independent medical reports within a personal injury and/or accident compensation setting is desirable
  • An understanding of medico legal reports would be beneficial
  • Previous experience working to targets and budgets whilst driving quality assurance programs
  • Tertiary qualification in a health-related science or quality assurance or other relevant discipline [Desirable]
  • Exposure to AMA guides for assessing permanent impairment
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills including negotiation and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team, coordination of workload and monitoring of performance
  • Strong quality and improvement focus with a high level of attention to detail
