Design and develop decision-supporting analysis, tools and models that support profitable trading in short term power markets.
Research and implement systematic trading strategies on the short-term power markets.
Maintain and enhance the team’s existing quantitative tools, processes, data and infrastructure.
Develop new quantitative capabilities that are complimentary to the team’s both fundamental and systematic decision process.
This includes researching and onboarding new data sources, developing new tools, factors, models and reports, and translating investment ideas/concepts into code/algorithms leading to actionable insights.
Proven experience of working with large data sets/data science.
Proven experience with large scale mathematical optimization software
Python with experience in NumPy, SciPy, pandas and ORMs such as SQL Alchemy
Quantitative analytical background is a must.
Experience in analysing Short term European power markets – understanding key drivers an advantage.
Understanding of the theory (and practicalities) of European flow-based power market coupling (Euphemia) and bid/offer curve expertise beneficial
A degree in a numerate subject
Strong quantitative and analytics background,
Experience with quantitative modelling in Python, R, MATLAB, C++, Excel VBA or comparable programming work, data modelling tools, and knowledge and experience using relational databases and SQL.
Three or more years of experience in a quantitative analytics environment required, experience in electricity trading is desirable but not required.
The role will be based in our Corporate office in Dubai.
