Role purpose

A Regional sales director role responsible for Capital Markets and Enterprise. Reporting to the Sales Sector Director Capital Markets and Asia. This role is large in scale with revenues in excess of €140m.

The Regional sales director role is responsible for the sales performance of their region executing Colt’s Go to Market strategy, delivering market leading growth from both new business acquisition and developing existing accounts.

Responsible for the overall sales strategy, people leadership and sales performance for the region under their scope, the regional sales director will drive sales excellence through coaching, building operational standards (CRM, ADP’s etc), setting and executing customer and sales resource alignment strategy and maintain excellent standards of sales governance.

The regional sales director will unite teams operating across multiple countries, building an entrepreneurial, collaborative culture whilst ensuring Colt brings its best to its customers to maximise share of wallet.

Ultimately the role is responsible across its territory for the building and operation of a world class sales organisation.

Key accountabilities

A strong people leader, capable of uniting teams and driving a collaborative, high performance culture.

  • Driving sales performance through the effective leadership of the sales organization.
  • Coaching and managing the leadership team to be effective and productive.
  • Drives a high performance culture.
  • Recruits, trains, motivates and retains an effective and engaged employee sales force.

Sales strategy and performance:

  • Accountable for the delivery of Sales Bookings targets.
  • Accountable for the delivery of Revenue targets.
  • Accountable for regional fixed cost budgets and operation within them.
  • Manages sales alignment strategy to deliver new business acquisition and existing. business growth in line with Colts’ Go to Market Strategy.
  • Drive achievement of account retention and churn goals.
  • Ensure high standards of operation and compliance with Colts’ sales process.
  • Contribute to the development of world class sales processes.
  • Ensure the highest standard in sales disciplines are adopted across the region, including forecast accuracy, pipeline management, account development plans.
  • Drives revenue and margin in the division through complex new business opportunities and developing existing accounts.
  • Collaborates and contributes to the evolution of Colt's product and solutions portfolio.
  • Sets ambitious targets and drives continued profitable growth.

Relationships and key contacts

  • Work as part of a virtual team that plans, develops, designs, negotiates and delivers high value, complex solutions.
  • Support in the processes of deal qualification, proposal, negotiation, closure and resourcing.
  • Product and Service teams to support delivery and product development.
  • Customer connected, maintain key relationships and account sponsorship.
  • CCO LT relationships to influence development of systems, processes and tools to deliver a World Class Sales organisation.
  • Champions the needs of the sales community, customers and partners across the organisation.

Role specific requirements

Skills & Experience

Excellent sales leadership skills through at least ten to fifteen years' direct sales experience, and several years of management experience, to include:

  • Proven and consistent track record of delivering growth.
  • Demonstratable performance in driving uplift in performance.
  • Strategic mindset and a strong operational focus.
  • Existing personal network with C-Level contacts.
  • Pipeline and Forecast-management methodology.
  • Excellent influence and communication skills.
  • Good planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Results oriented with high commitment, resilience and a positive attitude.
  • Considerable knowledge of the telecommunications market.
  • Proven experience of successfully managing teams at scale and with high levels of engagement across diverse geographical countries and regions.
  • Proven leadership skills at a senior level and ability to build a highly successful and achievement driven team.
  • Professional manner and conduct with proven experience in communicating with C-Level executives in large, complex organizations.
