Reporting position

Reporting to Engineering Team Leader or Manager

Working relationship

Interface with maintenance and engineering function across the site

Purpose of Role

Provide maintenance and equipment support to the site

To assist cell teams investigate and resolve technical problems on Manufacturing equipment

Drive CI initiatives on equipment to reduce downtime and improve yield

Liaise with equipment vendors to ensure appropriate support is available

Work with technicians to ensure PM plans adequately focus on the main causes of loss

Use data and a structured process to ensure focus on the most serious problems

Assist the development of productive and efficient maintenance practices

Compliance Related Tasks

Ensure adherence to cGMP at all times

Designation Deputy

May be required to deputise for Engineering Team Leader/Manager if required

Job Requirements

Work with maintenance technicians to identify and resolve equipment faults

Co-ordinate complex equipment challenges to resolution with assistance from technician group across shifts

Assist maintenance groups refine maintenance routines following analysis of downtime causes and other performance measures

Assist maintenance shifts implementing site maintenance strategy in a consistent manner across the site

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key equipment vendors to ensure appropriate support and to ensure the site learns from evolving vendor experience

Co-ordinate shutdown activity to ensure effective implementation of shutdown tasks and effective return service post shutdown

Develop technician expertise on shift in understanding equipment performance and in their ability to fault find and repair problems that arise

Work alongside Maintenance Planner to ensure maintenance activity is directed at the most important fault areas

Work with technician SMEs to ensure PMs are appropriate in reducing downtime

Qualifications

 

Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical)

Experience

+5 years’ experience in an engineering environment. Min. 3 years’ experience in the maintenance function of a high volume

manufacturing organisation.

Ideally have experience of the following:

Working in a maintenance group in a best practice manufacturing environment.

Familiar with principles and practices of preventative and predictive maintenance.

Experience of a regulated manufacturing environment.

Experience of performance measurement systems such as downtime evaluation and analysis, OEE, etc.

Experience in the delivery of maintenance excellence programs in a regulated environment.

Experienced in the identification of equipment improvement projects and delivery of same

Experience working with Datastream CMMS or similar CMMS.

Skills & Knowledge

Strong knowledge of maintenance management including the differing maintenance strategies & approaches

Strong technical competency with an ability to translate strategy into on the ground approaches

Ability to coordinate effectively and to advocate new approaches

Knowledge gained in high volume manufacturing environments where best practice manufacturing and maintenance systems

existed

Clear understanding of cGMP
