Description:  A Senior Repair Engineer Job in Glastonbury, CT is now accepting applications. This is a direct hire position with our key manufacturing client. To be considered, you will have a B.S. Degree in Engineering and 6 – 8 years of related experience. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding the Overhaul Shop’s capabilities, supported by a wide range of repair suppliers, to determine the feasibility for development of new component repairs and which supplier may be best suited for each part. In addition, this position will assist the Manager, OHR Procurement by providing technical support for existing repair processes, as required, and to the extent technically capable.
Senior Repair Engineer Job Responsibilities:
• Provides technical support for Procurement, Overhaul Shop Manager, repair sources, and Quality
• Investigate existing hardware to develop repair procedures and specifications that will be approved by Customer Service Engineering, Procurement, and Quality
• Ensure repair processes are consistent with functional performance and the requirements for the installation of components
• As new repairs are developed, you will ensure all process, inspection, hardware, fixtures, and equipment are capable of supporting the overhaul/repair of the part or assembly
• Evaluates parts and assemblies to determine repair feasibility
• Examine, create, modify, and implement repair processes continued improvements and compliance
• Prepares Statement of Work and Preliminary Repair Process for quoting new repairs
• Compiles and analyzes data on repairs; identifies root causes and rectifies; develops measures of performance on all repair processes
• Researches new technologies for repair processes
• Dispositions nonconforming repairs
• Approves Repair Supplier Repair Process
• Creates and modifies technical documents
Senior Repair Engineer Job Qualifications:
• B.S. Degree in Engineering from an accredited university required
• 6 – 8 years of experience of related experience required
• Willing and able to travel to repair supplier shops, domestic and international (up to 30%)
• Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision-making, and oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with MS Office applications
• Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
