The Safety Representative will report to the Director, Pipeline Operations, with a dotted-line relationship to the corporate safety group. The position requires the ability to respond within the given operating area and provide expert guidance and consultation concering all safety matters that the workgroup encounters while performing tasks. Adherence to company safety policies and practices is a must, and the Safety Representative must be knowlegeable and engaged in all activities to ensure the safety implications of those activities are properly identified and mitigated. Leading by example is of special importance for the Safety Representative. Specifically, the position requires the ability to:
Provide Operations and Field Support for normal operations and emergency response
Act as the safety Subject Matter Expert
Provide proper incident investigation and documentation
Conduct/participate in safety tailgate meetings
Provide support and expertise for Safety Audits, Inspections, and Reviews
Facilitate incident investigation through the use of "5 Whys", Taproot, or similar methodology
Perform or assist with industrial hygiene monitoring
Perform other duties as assigned
Lead/participate in safety meetings
Assist with work planning in a team environment
Perform field worksite visits to observe, audit, consult, and direct safe work activities
Work with the corporate safety team to facilitate safety change in the field as needed
Stay current with company, regulatory and/or industry changes related to safety
Administrate the safety training program for assigned operating groups
Assist with the DOT driver program as needed in the assigned operating area
Work as the leader or part of a team to investigate incidents
Provide oversight for contractors working in the assigned operating area per the Contractor Safety Manual
Be proficient with use of MSDSOnline, Intelex, CDMS, ISNetworld, I-Net, Veriforce
Coordinate annual safety training to include fire extinguisher use, auditory testing, NORM and Hazwoper refresher training

6+ years of relevant work experience
HS diploma or equivalent
Relevant safety certification

Usually, normal office working conditions.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
