Senior Research Assistant (holding the functional title of E-learning Instructor) in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 502454) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in Medical or Biomedical Sciences, with at least 2 years’ experience in educational project management or e-learning solutions in higher education institutions.  Experience in actually teaching and/or course content development is essential.  Applicants are also expected to have proven experience in integrating a variety of innovative techniques and technologies, and have demonstrated ability in communication and collaboration with teachers to determine, design, implement and evaluate instructional strategies and solutions.  The appointee will be responsible for:

  1. designing and implementing strategies to develop an effective online learning community across the MBBS curriculum;
  1. moderating e-learning forums and other online interactions, providing a conduit between the MBBS students and teachers;
  1. creating and contributing to various e-learning initiatives of the Faculty;
  1. promoting student-student and student-teacher communication and collaborative learning through the use of social media;
  1. developing and implementing new approaches for student interactivity to promote student engagement with e-learning materials;
  1. rigorously evaluating e-learning initiatives and disseminating the results through pedagogical research; and
  1. making recommendations to the Faculty for future development of e-learning.
