Interdigital Research & Innovation seeks a Principal Scientist to join the Imaging Science Lab in the Core Video Coding team.
One of his/her main roles is to provide significant technical leadership in the development of point cloud algorithms.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Research and develop new point cloud compression and processing technologies.
Provide corresponding proof-of-concept software implementation.
Actively participate and contribute to our point cloud standardization activities
Provide technical leadership and support to other team members, interns and partnership programs as required
Publication of video coding research results in various forms, including patent applications, standards contributions, implementation, conference and journal publications, technical white papers
Masters’ or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Expertise and leadership in 3D
Ability to lead research
Proficient in C++ and C programming
Strong analytical and research skills along with a proven innovation track record
Past experience and contributions with point cloud standards and formats such as V-PCC or G-PCC strongly preferred
Past experience being a standard delegate to MPEG a plus
Background in Computer Vision and/or Deep / Machine Learning techniques a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluent English, French appreciated
Strong team player, enthusiastic, motivated, and creative attitude
Available and willing to travel
