Sales Manager

Overview

The Sales Manager is responsible for strengthening and developing the Process Heating business for Thermon within their sales region in the South of France. Customer mix typically consists of end users, Engineering Contractors, Installation/Insulation Contractors, system integrators and Distributors. Importantly the majority of time would be customer facing and site visits.

Primary Duties

  • Acquire and develop new customers and key accounts
  • Customer analysis to define potential Process Heating opportunities
  • Find new opportunities. Develop plans to maximize sales of the Thermon products, systems and services (solutions)
  • Find technical solutions within Thermon's capabilities and communicate with the Customer
  • Able to perform technical training and presentations
  • Promote Thermon's philosophy by readings/presentations, visits, calls, emails etc.
  • Maintain and develop customer relations for long term relationship based on mutual trust
  • Manage customer expectations and enhance the customer experience resulting in sales
  • Conduct negotiations, help prepare quotations, assist in preparing contracts
  • Communicate, when needed, with the Customer during execution time of a (project) order
  • Provide competitor analysis and market monitoring, analyses market trends. Maintain awareness of market conditions and competitors' products, systems and pricing
  • Prepare sales reports to management on a regular basis and provide feedback, with the use of our MS Dynamics CRM system.
  • Communicate new product developments to (prospective-) customers
  • Assist, where needed, to reach a satisfactory solution to a Customer complaint
  • Sales and margin responsible for their region
  • Follow up projects and quotations and register in relevant systems
  • Ad hoc projects

Key characteristics

  • Strong commercial skills and technical background
  • Good negotiation & communication skills
  • Ability to create and maintain sales contacts on all levels
  • Ability to manage the sales process and interact with technical sales support
  • Attention to detail, ability to work in a team but also able to work independently
  • Responsible for quotations and pricing
  • Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) capabilities
  • Fluent in English and local language is a must. Other languages are preferred
  • Independent, self-motivated, team player
  • Able to effectively communicate on all levels, internal and external
  • Strong leadership skills

Knowledge and Experience

  • Commercial background (graduate degree in engineering, commerce) with experience in a technical environment
  • Work experience of at least five years' in a technical and/or industrial sector is an advantage
  • Experience in B2B and the Oil & Gas industry is an advantage
  • Valid driver's license
