A  Day in the Life

We offer you a position where you will develop and support the Medtronic activities with our accounts for all Cranial/Spinal and Neurosurgery Technologies (implants, navigation (StealthStation), 3D-imaging (O-arm), robotics solutions (MAZOR), drills (MIDAS-REX), products and services), in the defined sales territory of (Romandie). Additionnally to this you will become the new expert in Cranial Neuronavigation and CSF Therapies for Hydrocephalis and Traumatology, being able to train and support surgeons and nurses to the use of our new products and therapies.

Selling and account support


Assigned geographic region „Romandie“
Providing clinical case support in OR to surgeons & nursing staff in the operating theatre.
Analyses the market place, develops an effective territory/account sales strategy, and presents the strategy to management to gain approval for implementation.
Acquires, maintains and develops new and existing customers in this territory.
Identifies and addresses all key decision makers (clinical, administrative /economic) key opinion leaders and key referrals in all accounts and reports on them to the District Sales Manager Spinal & Cranial Technologies (CST) on a regular basis.
Close cooperation with Neurosurgical, Trauma and Orthopedic Departments and stakeholders.
Fosters clinical networks and develops referral structures.
Further develops existing accounts into new therapies and develops entirely new accounts.
Builds strong and long lasting business relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers and those influential in the purchasing process.
Supports and/or leads imaging, drills and navigation development projects.
Performs all activities to maximize sales (in line with the sales strategy).
Attends and participates in key professional congresses and events as required.
In conjunction with other members of the team, plans sales coverage/resources in the most effective and economical manner.Above average flexibility in working hours / schedule.
Identify and develop account potentials, account segmentation planning, documentation in CRM (salesforce.com).
Negotiate contract and terms, close deals.
Interfaces with Marketing, Therapy Sales Specialists, Capital Sales Specialists, GPO managers and IHS (Integrated Hospital Solutions) specialists.
Implements, promotes and support the use of our new Cranial Neuronavigation therapies.


Internal and administrative


Reports all account, market and competitive information and trends and metrics in a comprehensive, complete and timely fashion.
Plans and prepares sales forecasts by account, product and therapy for the territory along with proposed meetings/customer activities and investments.
Carries out all administrative duties and all necessary reports in a timely and diligent manner, (i.e. boot stock reports, stock movement forms etc.). Provides minimum, but regular activity report to district manager. Attends all required regional and national meetings













Must Haves


Multiple years of successful Sales experience, ideally in the medical device industry/life-science/pharma environment
High relationship building skills on department chief level
Strong negotiation and communiation skills
Professional fluency in French and English, German would be a plus
Be a Therapy expert in at least one of the relevant areas
Team player attitude and ability to cooperate within a team
Ability to work independently and without supervision
Full clean driver's license
Computer literacy
Location in Romandie


Nice to Haves


Clinical and/or technical background
Key Account Management skills (KAM)
General product and Therapy knowledge of the defined product scope
Proven ability to operate in a matrix environment and work effectively with sales force, physicians, nurses and hospital technicians.
Experience in the OR environment
