The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a passionate and innovative Sales Specialist to join us in Canberra, Australia. In this role, you will guide the adoption of Red Hat's emerging technology solutions by our enterprise customers and partners across Australia and New Zealand. You will work closely aligned with the local account teams to meet demanding growth targets over the coming years. You will need to have excellent sales, communication, and people skills as you'll have a key role in the Red Hat Sales team, interacting with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll need to have a balance of technical expertise, passion for open source, and a thorough understanding of business processes and IT problems faced at the enterprise level. In the evangelist part of the role, you may be asked to speak at events and technical forums to everyone from CIOs to user groups about Red Hat technologies. As a Sales Specialist, you will need to learn constantly about new technologies and how they can be applied to solve enterprise challenges. This role offers a base salary plus commission.

  • Sell Red Hat's infrastructure and emerging technology solutions by generating opportunities in a designated set of accounts or region
  • Lead the emerging technology solutions area within Red Hat's infrastructure practice
  • Contribute to selling and marketing strategies in the infrastructure and cloud management solutions portfolio
  • Promote Red Hat's value proposition to prospective customers
  • Meet quantitative and qualitative performance expectations
  • Set high standards for articulation and presentation of key messages to C-level executives
  • Collaborate with the wider sales organisation to advance key infrastructure and cloud management opportunities
  • Build relationships of trust with key customer decision makers and influencers
  • Work with Red Hat's Channel team to sell-with relevant infrastructure and cloud management partners
  • Present at forums and community events to raise awareness of Red Hat's infrastructure and cloud management portfolio
  • Interact with Red Hat's global business unit leaders
  • 5+ years of experience working in a solutions sales role
  • Extensive technical sales experience in data centre infrastructure, cloud, middleware, and cloud management solutions
  • Good communication and technical skills that enable customer relationship development at engineering, commercial, and executive levels
  • Desire to understand customer business objectives and pain points, and the ability to create a narrative that addresses those business objectives
  • Passion for open source technology
  • Experience with solutions sales mindset in a company with multiple offerings and services
  • Proven ability to work seamlessly with global, cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers
  • Balance of diplomatic, tactical, technical, and creative thinking skills
