Position Overview

We are hiring a high-energy sales professional with strong sales skills, sound business acumen, and strong technical aptitude to join the Autodesk Shotgun sales team as a Product Sales Specialist. Our focus on the Shotgun team is to build a new generation of tools for teams working in the entertainment industry. We connect teams together and help them do the best work of their careers, while also getting them home in time for dinner. Most of the visual effects, films, and animation in today’s top films, TV shows, and video games are created by our clients. Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, and thousands of other stories are created by teams using our tools. You can check out a collection of their work in our reel and hear Shotgun Co-Founder Don Parker thank our clients on behalf of our team when we won an Emmy last year.

It is an exciting time to be working in the media and entertainment industry. There is a surge of demand, generated by an explosion of screens around the world, fast internet, and a new breed of silicon valley studios joining the traditional studios to completely rethink how entertainment is created, delivered, and experienced. Things are changing fast and our content developers need to evolve how they work to survive. This is also an exciting time for the Shotgun business at Autodesk. We are set up like a start-up within a large company, encouraged to move quickly and innovate rapidly to catch this next wave in our industry.  The Shotgun Product Specialists are responsible for managing their own pipeline of Shotgun opportunities and driving them to close.  You will receive incoming leads from the Business Development Reps and will be responsible for prospecting for new opportunities on your own to keep your funnel full. You will also work together with M&E Territory Sales Executives and Reps in a team-selling environment.  You will drive value-based sales engagements, engaging in digital discoveries with clients together with technical sales reps to demonstrate how Shotgun can address production management issues you have discovered in the customers’ processes. 


  • Responsible for prospecting and hunting to find new business to be closed directly and with authorized resellers
  • Responsible for pipeline management
  • Create a great first impression to our prospects and customers by listening to their business needs
  • Maintain active engagement with new and existing leads through creative follow-up communications designed to increase customer interest in Shotgun
  • Collaborate with Marketing to provide feedback and improve future outbound campaigns.
  • Achieve quarterly goals and yearly quotas to drive aggressive sales growth
  • Assist with renewal clients
  • Use to document opportunities and activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-5 Years of software sales experience preferred
  • A history of selling enterprise collaboration and data/document,  management (PLM, PDM, Document Management, etc.) is a plus
  • A history of production experience in a Media and Entertainment with a strong desire to be in technology sales is a plus but not required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • Self-starter, high energy, aggressive, results oriented, and humble
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Drive to continually improve your sales skills through on the job coaching, self-learning and as defined by Autodesk sales career progression framework

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of common production workflows and pipelines would be beneficial
  • Experience working first-hand within film, TV or games development in a Producer/Manager/Coordinator/Developer role would be beneficial but not required
  • Working knowledge of is helpful
