Join the momentum at MNP. We are currently seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our growing Administration team. MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Strategically supporting the firm, our Administration team anticipates the needs of our team members and Partners. We effectively communicate information for service lines, industry and specialty groups, and operations at all levels throughout the firm. Our administrators support initiatives and ensure efficiency, allowing MNP to better serve our clients and people.


Performance Expectations

  • Work closely with Partners and Managers on resource planning and deployment
  • Demonstrate leadership and influence key deployment and capacity management decisions
  • Maximize utilization by identifying imbalances and negotiating and reallocating resources
  • Prioritize staffing decisions based on engagement risk, skills, timing, continuity and geographic considerations
  • Focus on matching engagement needs with required skills, development opportunities and engagement risk
  • Liaise with client-serving professionals to determine development needs and identify engagement and
  • learning opportunities, as appropriate
  • Manage staffing conflicts with all relevant parties, providing alternative staffing recommendations and escalating issues, as appropriate
  • Communicate regularly with Managers on the status of staffing requirements
  • Proactively monitor and highlight unassigned resources in order to minimize unassigned time
  • Monitor outstanding project/engagement resource requests and make recommendations
  • Responsible for all data entry related to producing a schedule for the Private Enterprise group
  • Input scheduling information into the scheduling tool
  • Assign engagements to individual team members by integrating the workflow management system with the schedule
  • Participate in scheduling meetings and follow-up on unresolved issues
  • Update assigned schedules on a daily basis Reporting
  • Assist with reporting including utilization performance, forecasts and capacity management
  • Contribute to the creation/maintenance of accurate personnel and client schedules
  • Complete ad hoc projects as required

Credentials

  • Completion of a degree in business, project management or related field of study, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of three to five years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working in a professional services firm and/or consulting firm considered an asset
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and especially Excel is required
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills including knowing when to escalate matters
