Overview of the Role and Requirements
The Avanti Faculty Member is responsible for effectively running classes for students in all batches assigned to him/her. People with more than 3 years experience may also be involved in training other junior teachers to become better teachers. He/she will be accountable to student performance and learning gains of students. The role of a faculty member primarily involves
Prepare for and teach students: Prepare a lesson plan for each class, ensure an engaging and lively classroom.
Track student work: Keep a regular tab on the progress, attendance, work (in class and homework) and test scores of students in all batches he/she is teaching through Avanti’s LMS portal
Classroom management: Set expectations and manage behavior of students in each classroom he/she teaches to ensure that decorum is maintained, while creating an enjoyable student-friendly atmosphere
Student doubt solving: Be available for solving doubts of students whenever required, outside classroom hours, if needed
Mentoring students: Interact with students one-on-one to motivate and mentor them; especially those who are assigned as your mentees by the program manager or the centre coordinator
Interaction with parents: Be present at all PTMs (and any other necessary instances) arranged by the program/sales manager to discuss student performance with parents
Reporting on work and student performance : Compile and analyze weekly reports on student effort and performance from the LMS for his/her subject; send them to the academic manager whenever needed
Training teachers: Work with the academic manager and the training team to help in the development of junior teachers (applicable only for senior teachers)
In addition, the faculty members may be required to work with the admissions team, at the beginning of the academic year, to address parent/ student queries about the organization, the course design and objectives
The ideal teacher is someone with
Passion to work in education and be a teacher
Proven Academic proficiency in teaching 9-10th grades students
Must have a minimum 1 year prior full time classroom teaching experience. For people with less than 1 year of experience, we will hire them as trainee faculty.
