About the SEA Accounting Lead role:

In this accounting heavy role, you will be working together with location finance leads in delivering monthly, quarterly, half-year reporting, and ensuring proper governance and compliance for SEA overall.  

Key Responsibilities :

  • Location governance - Ensure that for all SEA location an active register of Statutory, Taxation and internal compliance requirements (ASX 4.2 etc) is maintained and used to track compliance with such requirements.
  • Reviews and enforces the key policies and procedures (e.g. DOA and Revenue Recognition) across SEA.
  • As required support Locations during internal/external audits, tax investigation and audits.
  • Work with locations to continue to identify areas to improve and drive best practice across all internal and external governance requirements.
  • Governance on Monthly Reporting - Ensure that locations close and complete month end reporting accurately and on time - including ensuring that analytical queries raised by HFM team are resolved, planning HFM mismatches are closed timely and all required schedules are completed.
  • Meeting Corporate Deadlines - Confirm locations have closed all corporate reporting requirements on time and provide a point of escalation to corporate and support to the location, where required.
  • Half year and Year end Reporting - Support the preparation of Group reporting packs on time, with the expected level of quality and in accordance with IFRS and Group policies.
  • Full and Half Year Additional Schedules - Confirm HY/YE HFM schedules completion and act as point of escalation and assistance as required.
  • Audit Process – Support the half and full year end external audit process.
  • Balance sheet reporting - Responsible for the financial reporting of multi-location balance sheets, including payroll, AP, AR activities and ensuring appropriate, timely reconciliations are performed .
  • Training - Facilitate as required the support and guidance to SEA users, especially during month-end and year end.
  • Escalation Point - Where locations in SEA report issues act as point of escalation to ensure that they are given appropriate and timely attention.
  • System Access – Support the completion of regular system access reviews.
  • Work closely with the Location Finance Lead’s across the Region to develop, establish and implement improvements to ensure achievement of all financial goals and objectives. Encourage the sharing and adoption of best practice across SEA.
  • Actively works with Location Finance Leads to drive process and system improvement, in particular automation of key controls and reporting.
  • Work with Location Finance Leads to complete half yearly balance sheet reviews across all entities to ensure best practice is adopted across SEA.
  • Act as an escalation point for issues related to the BSC, actively promote the BSC relationship with SEA.
  • Act as an interface between the locations and the BSC in the resolution of matters arising from the day to day operations.

To succeed in the SEA Accounting Lead role, you will need to act as an interface between the locations and the BSC in the resolution of matters arising from the day to day operations.

Key Requirements :

  • A qualified accountant with a proven track record of success with more than 10 years of significant financial experience, most recently in a senior financial management role.
  • Good understanding of relevant legislation and internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Ability to think outside the box and identify issues and solutions to those issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, with the ability to gain the confidence of senior management
  • A high degree of organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills with strong influencing ability.
  • A track record of successfully managing teams and implementing change; ideally experienced in managing an international team.

  • Excellent management skills including the ability to plan, set goals; and manage time, priorities, resources, accountabilities, schedules and cost.

  • Negotiates successful outcomes that achieve the required objectives and have the support and acceptance of all parties.

  • Pro-active, goal oriented with excellent attention to detail.

  • Effectively manages change to work tasks and the work environment, and assists others with adapting to change.

  • A person of integrity who is trusted by others and consistently honours their commitments.

  • Able to identify issues, problems and opportunities; make timely decisions; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.
