Job Description

This position is responsible for all aspects of Financial Planning, Analysis and reporting within the Upjohn BU. Critical to the role is the ability to analyze financial results and provide management insight into global Upjohn operations. This role provides the opportunity to interact with key leaders at HQ, in the US and International Operations as well as assist in the creation of and maintenance of our planning and reporting processes.
This role will report into Upjohn Global Operations, Planning Analysis (OP&A) Lead.
- Prepare and review monthly financial results and perform analysis of financial statements, including comparison with budget, prior year or prior forecast
- Play an integral role in the all Planning/Forecasting processes throughout the fiscal year
- Ensure market commentary highlighting performance drivers are identified, documented and insightful. Subsequent to robust analyses, follow-up with markets on any additional clarification or analysis needed
- Support OP&A Team Lead in the analysis and presentation of business results and provide timely and insightful analysis to facilitate meeting of financial objectives
- Participate in special projects supporting Global Upjohn activities
Operating Plan
- Assists in the coordination, analysis and preparation of the Upjohn BU Operating Plan
- Work with the finance and commercial teams to understand the business and its key drivers in order to define the requirements and facilitate the consolidation of the operating plan
- Responsible for the review of all commentary of the Operating Plan
- Liaise with finance and commercial teams on budget-related issues
Management Reporting and Forecasting
- Reviews and analyzes monthly BU global results, and assists with the commentary/associated presentations to senior management
- Directs the periodic preparation and analysis of financial forecasts; prepares and updates risks / opportunities schedule
Global FP&A Responsibilities
- Liaise with consultants/internal third parties providing accurate/appropriate financial data extracts supporting various analyses and projects
- Support partnership with PGS and other groups across Pfizer on as needed basis
- Assist with other ad hoc analyses and projects as required by the Global FP&A team
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinker with strong financial and business analytical skills and a proven ability to drive complex, cross-functional initiatives
- 3-5 years of post-college experience in narrow FP&A roles
- Experience with Local/Global Mosaic financial reporting processes strongly preferred
- Outstanding communication, collaboration and influence skills; ability to influence at all levels, be persuasive and a good listener and assimilator of ideas and perspectives
- Possess excellent presentation and communication skills and demonstrated ability to provide clear, concise and insightful updates on business issues
