The role    

Due to continued growt h as a premier Heritage consultancy in Victoria, the  team are   seeking a motivated and enthusiastic  Archaeologist  to  join  their skilled and  well-resourced  group of staff   in this permanent , full-time   opportunity .   

The Senior Archaeologist is a  project manager and consolidating technical  expert who   contributes to the Victorian Heritage Team.  The Senior Archaeologist  will support and report into  both  the  Victorian  Team   Leader – Heritage and the Manager –  Heritage  and  is expected to accomplish both   project and administrative work.     

This position will play a key role in managing  q uality  a ssurance  for  large ,  complex   projects and developing,  leading,  and maintaining major client relationships.    

Additional  responsibilities include:    

  • I dentifying  and  assessing sites / issues of significance and determining   recommendations  
  • P reparing management plans  and w riting technical reports .  
  • Designing and implementing moderately complex sub-surface testing and   excavation techniques.  
  • Effective management of  productivity and project profitability .  
  • C ontinuous improvement of efficient and effective delivery of  projects   

About you    

You are an experienced  Archaeologist  with  ideally  5+  years’  consulting  experience ,  at either the mid-range or Senior level , able to offer a high quality of Aboriginal Heritage   advice, leadership and  management .     

You  have full Australian working rights and  hold  r elevant tertiary qualification s .   You are  well  versed in   Victorian  legislation  and  can p roactively take on  an  educator role to help clients understand the environment in   which  Biosis  operate s  both legislative and ethically .
