Position
Senior Benefits Administrator
Responsibilities
The Senior Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day and cyclical administration processes for our clients' health and welfare benefit plans. Key responsibilities include:
+ Perform administration functions and annual and periodic processing which adhere to established procedures (i.e. data management, payroll deduction files, etc.)
+ Quality review of less experienced team members’ work output
+ Respond to client escalations and engage with Client Service Manager as needed to ensure timely and accurate resolution
+ Support Member Contact team to investigate and resolve complex plan member queries
+ Work with Client Service Manager to set up working procedures and ensure all administration documents are up-to-date and meet quality standards – including administrative forms
+ Support Client Service Manager in preparing client management reporting and participate in client meetings, e.g. service level agreement scorecards, monthly and quarterly administration action logs

+ Reconcile external data reporting (i.e. payroll deductions file, monthly premium reporting, etc.)
+ Perform user acceptance testing (i.e. client specific systems)
+ Review test plans and/or control groups
+ Review specifications
+ Produce complex and/or ad hoc reports
+ Prepare the cyclical deliverables processing calendar
+ Resolve complex issues with third parties that affect members’ benefits coverage
+ Analyze business needs and apply appropriate administration solutions in a cost-effective way
+ Work with business partners to apply appropriate solutions to complex issues
+ Act as a source of expertise to others including assisting colleagues with the application tools and procedures
+ Act as a role model for less experienced team members regarding service delivery and professional behavior
+ Develop detailed project plans by breaking down into manageable tasks and delegate assignments to appropriate team members
Experience

+ Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office applications and essential computer functions
+ Minimum 5 years’ experience in health and welfare benefit plan administration
+ Detail oriented with strong commitment to quality
+ Strong analytical skills
+ Proven relationship building skills
+ Proven project management skills and proactive ability to handle and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
+ Client satisfaction focus and team-oriented work style
+ Ability to remain poised, patient, empathetic, tactful and composed while handling client staff and plan member queries
+ Solid oral and written communication skills - with particular emphasis on articulation and grammar
+ High ethical standards
+ Demonstrates strong mentoring and training skills
+ Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
Education
+ Post-secondary education and/or related work experience
