Superunion is looking for a Senior Brand Strategist to add to its team. In this full-time role based in Hong Kong, we’re looking for:

Reporting to the Strategy Director, your primary focus will be to independently run brand strategy projects for our regional clients across Asia Pacific, offering them sound recommendations on all things branding:

Knowledge & Analysis

  • Lead the collation, organisation and insightful analysis of qualitative and quantitative information, including client business and brand information, competitive landscapes, customer research, analyst commentary and press coverage
  • Master industry best-practices in Superunion’s core areas of brand positioning, naming, brand architecture, client engagement, creative briefs and brand experience
  • Improve Superunion’s own proprietary tools through your knowledge of other business and brand strategy tools

Insight & Strategy

  • Use a combination of brand strategy tools, work and personal experiences, general knowledge and emotional intelligence to uncover insights on culture and human behaviour
  • Use lateral thinking, problem-solving skills and common sense to develop and innovate effective branding strategies

Personal Management

  • Be demanding of high standards in critical thinking, detail and presentation
  • Take personal pride in work


  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and be responsible for engaging bigger key clients
  • Develop strong working partnerships with internal teams (client services and creative) and Superunion’s global network
  • Coach junior staff on strategy skills and guide them in the strategic development process
  • Ensure regular upward communication with line manager and regional directors to share work and get feedback

  • 5+ years of experience in a related area including branding, innovation, research or client-side marketing
  • Fluency in both English and Mandarin a plus
  • All-round knowledge of branding including brand architecture, brand models, client workshops, and qualitative and quantitative research
  • An inquisitive mind that asks the right questions, and a resourcefulness to carry out the solution-building process
  • Good analytical skills – able to simplify complex problems or processes into component parts, and explore and evaluate them systematically
  • Able to think laterally and identify connections between projects, trends and emerging issues
  • Attention to detail whilst also being able to maintain an objective and strategic perspective
  • Dexterity across a variety of sectors, both corporate and consumer
  • Able to deliver client presentations and facilitate workshops
  • Take responsibility, think on their feet, and stand up for their work with pride and gravitas
  • Bachelor degree or above
  • Mastery of PowerPoint, Word and Excel
