As an integral member of a large and supportive team, the Senior Business Development Manager will work with the Business Development Team and Practice Team Leaders to create and execute a business development and growth strategy for the firm's Corporate Practice Area. We are open to both full time and part time (3-4 days) applicants.

The role will involve:

  • Providing strategic advice to Partners regarding business growth activities which are aligned with overall firm and practice team strategy
  • Providing guidance to Partners on the optimal strategy for participating in, and executing, thought leadership campaigns
  • Managing Practice Team opportunity pursuits, tenders or pitches, including project managing the delivery of, and drafting copy for, tenders and pitches
  • Working with our Corporate practice team leader to identify priority clients/accounts, developing account management plans and, together with Team Leaders, Partners and Business Development Executives, manage and execute those plans
  • Driving a client service excellence culture in the corporate practice team by encouraging partners to participate in the firm's feedback program and directly participating in relationship healthcheck meetings with clients
  • Planning and prioritising workflow with a Business Development Executive/Manager to ensure the timely delivery of capability and credentials documentation, tender and bid preparation, events, publications, website, public profiling and media activities, sponsorships, directory and award submissions and account management activities
  • Coaching and mentoring one direct report in the execution of their day-to-day responsibilities, including their development of business development skills, and management of their relationships with key stakeholders


  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Comprehensive understanding of business development and marketing principles and processes
  • Ability to influence and challenge senior executives and managers on the true value and strategic alignment of proposed business development activities
  • Understanding of and commitment to providing high quality client service
  • Demonstrated project management skills; i.e. ability to appropriately scope projects; identify and engage stakeholders; work to tight timeframes; manage multiple tasks; delegate and supervise work; identify and navigate hurdles, delays and roadblocks; keep stakeholders abreast of status; and deliver project outcomes
  • Proven experience as a marketing/business development professional, with experience in a B2B services (preferably professional services) environment
