Short Description: SQL Server & SAP (Sybase) Administrator
Roles and Responsibilities:
•Expertise in RDBMS S/W installation, database server builds, applying patches, upgrading, configuring, trouble shooting of SQL SERVER 2008R2/2012/2014/2016 and SAP ASE 16, 15.x, 12.5x & REP 15.x, 16.x
•Strong communication and management skills, a strong team player with excellent customer interfacing and troubleshooting skills.
•Providing 24 x 7 production support for critical Banking OLTP / OLAP systems as part of an onshore-offshore based team
•Automating and improving support operations / day-to-day tasks using scripting.
•Sound knowledge in configuring HADR solutions - Always ON, Log shipping, Clustering, mirroring, and replication, and SRDF replication for S
•Expertise in Disaster Recovery plans by configuring Always On, Clustering, Log-shipping, Mirroring and Replication (Snapshot and Transactional).
•Implementing High Availability in SQL 2012/2016 by configuring Always On Availability groups across Windows Server Failover Clustering.
•Good knowledge in configuring and managing 3rd party backup solutions preferably DDBoost
•Expert knowledge of implementing and maintaining database encryption in-transit & at rest.
•Expertise in database Backups, Restore, Recovery, updating statistics, Rebuilding and Reorganizing indexes, Defrag Tables, Replication, Linked Servers, and Database Maintenance Plan.
•Monitoring Instances, Configuring and Enabling alerts using Quest Foglight / App Dynamics or any other 3rd party tool.
•Experience in query optimization and performance tuning. Experience in using SQL Profiler, Execution Plan, Performance Monitor and DBCC Commands.
•Good knowledge in using DMVs and DMFs to find and solve Performance Issue, Data modeling concepts.
•Experience in PowerShell or SSIS to automate the day to day activities and troubleshoot/enhance the existing scripts.
•Experience in K Shell & Bash scripting for SAP Windows and Linux/AIX based systems.
•Expertise in setting up and manage license server, security and access provisioning.
•Experience in setting up DBCC checkstorage and fix DBCC faults.
•Good knowledge of Operating Systems Linux, AIX, Windows & SunOS.
•Preparing and updating Knowledge articles and sharing with the team on day to day activities.
•Previous experience of using Remedy and Service Now
•Working knowledge of Bitbucker/GIT used for version control.
•Excellent customer interfacing skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and Problem-solving skills.
