Roles and Responsibilities:
In the role of Oracle DBA, you will be performing Oracle database support and administration, Support and coordination for database migrations, upgrades, and patching, capacity planning, evaluate database server hardware, and manage all aspects of an Oracle database including installation, configuration, design, and data migration. You need to administer and troubleshoot complex Oracle database systems that serve as the backbone of the Business critical Oracle and Non Oracle bespoke applications.
Additional responsibilities include performance monitoring, security, backups, troubleshooting, and data recovery.
Location: Canberra / Melbourne
•Install, patch, maintain and monitor Oracle databases
•Create and maintain SQL and PL/SQL queries and shell scripts
•Monitor, and verify backups and perform ad-hoc backups
•Provide maintenance support for database systems.
•Data Extraction, transformation, and loading
•Perform routine security and authentication measures
•Database tuning and troubleshooting
•Tertiary Qualification in IT / Computer Science / related discipline.
•Stakeholder management, collaboration and Leadership qualities.
•Exposure to latest Technical Trends (Cloud)
•Experience in preparing Business Case for large Initiatives.
•Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
•Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
•Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
•Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
•Experience in Public sector
•10+ years of IT experience
•Excellent customer interfacing skills.
•Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and Problem-solving skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
