As part of the continued growth of our Safety Services team in Latin America, ERM has an opportunity to join our global consulting firm as a Safety Senior Consultant in Santiago, Chile on a Fixed-term Employment Contract.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Order suspension of Activities that pose threat to worker’s health or safety
Conducts plant safety audits
Oversees contractor Management Programs and support on hazards identification
Maintains a presence in the work environment to build relationships, identify and mitigate hazards
Oversees the hot work, confined space, LOTO, and Safe Work Permitting programs to enhance safety of participants and comply with all regulations and requirements
Interacts with stakeholders to promote effective emergency response
Oversees field incident investigations and participates in Root Cause Analysis (RCA’s)
Develops and maintains Confined Space Inventory lists and Rescue Plans
Oversees confined space and hot work activities for safety and compliance
Participates in safety reviews and audits for unit shutdowns and normal operations
Audits for correct completion of safe work, hot work, confined space, and excavation permits
Participates in emergency response activities as assigned
Develops and performs reviews and updates on plant policies and procedures
Willingness to work after hours and on weekends when schedules deem necessary
Manages Job Safety Analysis process
Other duties as assigned
We are looking for a team player with strong interpersonal skills who thrives on variety. Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or equivalent relevant safety experience
10+ years of Construction Safety, Contractor Management, Power Sector
Ability to analyze regulatory and non-regulatory standards to determine best practices
Solid knowledge on hazards identification and JHA.
Knowledge of HAZOP processes.
Excellent communication skills
Fluent in Spanish and English language is mandatory
Ability to build relationships at every level of the organization
Ability to foster employee engagement in HS activities
Capable and willing to make sound judgments for everyday work activities and during emergency response
Excellent planning and organizational skills, detail oriented
Proven capability of influencing senior level and supervisory employees
