Senior Copywriters work under the guidance of an Associate Creative Director of Copy or a Creative Director to develop concepts and directions for creative ideas, campaigns, and executions. This key role will be working directly in a client facing team, building out strategic thought and creative ideas that will have a global reach. You will be part of building and defining a new breed of creative agency with some of the most innovative digital, social, technology and production expertise at your disposal.

About the Role

  • Wield words, wisdom and wit on behalf of our client, who looks to us for big-picture thinking, direct partnership, and creative production of digital campaigns and social content.
  • You will develop concepts and copy for all kinds of creative assignments — this might include digital campaigns, videos, messaging guidelines, packaging and anything else you can dream up (that fits the brief).
  • Present ideas and build client relationships with moxie, aplomb, and humanity.
  • As part of our team, you’ll be collaborating with designers, other copy leads, animators, as well as with PMs, operations managers and a lot more talented Monks from all over the world.
  • Lead the copy conversation with clients; proactively respond to feedback in person and in writing; follow up with creative and account teams throughout the project.
  • Explore ways to help your clients beyond the immediate scope and think strategically about their bigger needs.
  • You need to go above and beyond the original brief to push what’s possible at a creative level, even under tight deadlines.
  • Track industry trends and pitch stories relevant to the client’s readership and editorial strategy.
  • Ensure copy is well-crafted, engaging, consistent, and aligned with brand objectives.


  • You have 4+ years of copywriting experience within Advertising and Marketing.
  • You can craft amazing stories out of thin air, based on briefs, interviews, trends, and from drafts written by others.
  • You’re experienced in developing copy-based concepts with clever tag lines and other creative copy.
  • You have your finger on the pulse of creative cultures, trends, and technologies.
  • You combine creative writing with critical thinking; your analytical approach enables you to ask the right questions and waterproof ideas from concept through final draft.
  • You can share a strong portfolio showcasing your work across multiple formats (digital, video, social, etc.) is required.
  • You have experience writing within brand voice, tone, and style guides ensuring consistent language across multiple touchpoints.
  • You are a detail-oriented and organized person who never misses a deadline.
  • You have an ability to adapt quickly, compromise when necessary, and follow editorial leads with equal confidence and humility.
  • You demonstrate communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • You work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment both in office and remotely.
  • You’re able to clearly communicate concepts through mocks and decks when pitching work to stakeholders and directors.
