ABBOTT BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY SERVICES AT CHERRYWOOD

Abbott Information Technology (IT) is responsible for delivering Information technology solutions and services to over 130+ countries globally. 

To support this global footprint, Abbott IT is building a new team in Ireland located in Cherrywood, Dublin. The newly established hub will be a strategic location

for technology talent, delivering regional programs and supporting global operations for critical services.

EPD has established an Analytics Center of Excellence which will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of an Enterprise Analytics solution servicing over 20 countries across EPD functional areas.

Primary Job Function:

• Support the Enterprise Analytics solution by ensuring data is clean, correctly mapped and processed according to business expectations and an enterprise data model.

• Support EPD functions in the definition and implementation of information needs to enable business strategies by working directly with business stakeholders (across functional areas)

• Develop technology initiatives to deliver analytics’ expected benefits and capabilities from data perspective.

• Ensure integrity, scalability and transportability of implemented solutions

• Ensure solutions align with corporate IT services and policies (data standards, data modeling tools, ETL standards)

• Be part of  Master Data Governance, including Master Data Management activities through  data flows and data build.

• Member of the Enterprise Analytics Master Data Team

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Understand EPD information needs in the context of business strategies and priorities

• Participate in business workshops, lead data stream to define, design, and document data needs

• Closely cooperate with business users and with vendors to understand business needs and translate to technical specification that include: data definitions, data model, data flows and transformations/logic required

• Identify and obtain data from various data sources, interpret and transform into expected format

• Continues analysis, examination and evaluate existing systems and data

• Continues improve user experience and suggest adjustments in business processes

• Ensure improvement of data management activities to release business teams from repetitive non-value-added activities

• Actively manage data lifecycle

• Ensure accurate and up-to-date project and solution documentation

• Proficient in using technology components to realize master data activities

• Normalize existing data sets and create rich dimension tables that can be maintained by third parties

• Implement enterprise-level ETL best practices such as version control and unit testing

• Create data dictionaries and business glossaries to document data lineages, data definitions, and metadata for all business-critical data domains.

• Identify and reconcile inconsistencies in data definitions

• Work to identify master data (entities and attributes) and capture how data is interpreted by users in various parts of the organization.

• Implement business and technology initiatives to fulfil data needs

• Maintain network with business users (Data Stewards) by providing trainings and updates from data tools

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or similar

• Minimum four years of hands on experience in working as DWH/BI senior analyst or similar in medium to large industries

• Minimum of two full cycles of global analytics initiatives

• Ideally certified in one SAP functional module

• Ideally one end-to-end ERP SAP implementation cycle

• Extensive experience in SQL and one of the following databases: Oracle, MSSQL, DB2, PostgreSQL

• Experience in working in AWS environment (S3, Athena, Glue, Redshift)

• Experience with ETL and DWH/ BI projects

• Fluent in English (written and verbal)

• Knowledge and experience with Informatica technology (Informatica IDQ, MDM, PowerCenter, IICS)

• Knowledge and experience with BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik etc.)

• Well organized way of working, efficiency in solving complex issues

• Experience in pharmaceutical industry would be an asset
