Senior Data Scientist, AI Lab, Philips Research China

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Play an active role in the research team by contributing creative ideas, designing and developing AI-enabled solutions in healthcare, resulting in patents that protect potential future expansion of our healthcare business.

You are responsible for

  • Designing Deep Learning network and optimize network for Medical Imaging use-cases

  • Annotation on medical images using open source tool or Philips product, e.g. ISD (IntelliSpace Discovery)

  • Evaluating and vailidating your AI model in the hostipal settings

  • Implementing the AI model into Philips product, ISD

  • Documenting your innovation outcomes in a formal way such as patents, technical notes, as well as peer-reviewed publications

  • Collaborating with colleagues from other groups in Philips working in related fields and assisting your colleagues with your data analytics insights, both in China and abroad

The Big Data & AI Lab of Philips Research China, focusing on innovations using data mining, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in the professional healthcare settings. A highly effective and efficient, but fun workplace atmosphere is valued and a diverse team with backgrounds not only in biomedical engineering but also in computer science will greet you. You will report to the Lab Director and collaborate with business teams as well as hospital professionals to accelerate innovations.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Master degree or PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or related fields, with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience

  • Track records of publications in international conferences/journals

  • Hands-on experience in coding solutions on medical images

  • Experienced in Python, Java, R, C++ or other programming language

  • Experienced in Data Pipeline engineering skills: Hadoop, Spark, Hive.

  • Experience in Deep Learning framework (e.g. Torch/PyTorch, Tensorflow, Cafee, etc)

  • Solid knowledge and experience in data mining, machine learning and statistics

  • Deep understanding in Medical Images

  • Strong knowledge in Deep Learning for Imaging

  • Evidence of strong project management skills

  • Fluency in written/spoken English and Chinese for technical writing and strong presentation skills

  • Collaborative and communicative mindset with stakeholders such as clinical, R&D, business and academic professionals

  • Knowledge and experience in clinical practice and clinical trials is a plus
