Job Title Lead DevOps Engineer

Location Knutsford

This role is a Lead DeveOps Engineer.   As a lead you will have a small team of DevOps Engineers that will build out the pipelines which support our production applications.   You will be expected to work with the Lead Java Developer, Lead Angular Developer and Architecture function to define and deliver automation for our applications.        

Your Role

You will lead a small team of DevOps Engineers to create the pipelines which underpin our application delivery.   You will be expected to take a Java source, build a pipeline which tests, compiles and builds then delivers it into a functional test environment for functional testing.   You’ll then need to define and build the modules that deliver this application into SIT, UAT and Run.   We’re building out pipeline as a service which will be a modular drag and drop pipeline solution, allowing our developers to simplify pipeline creation; choosing from a selection of pre-tested and supported modules.   Your role will be to define and build these modules that deliver our applications into production.

·         Team leadership.

·         Design and engineering.

·         Automating application deployment in Jenkins.

·         Working with AWS and Terraform to buildout application environments through automation.

·         Work with Agile methodologies.

·         Define and engineer solutions that will handle secret and property management for our application.

Essential Skills

  • Jenkins, GIT, Groovy and Gradle execution – Creating and using Jenkins shared libraries
  • AWS – ECS, EC2, VPC, Security Groups, RDS, Secret Management, KMS, Private Link, Route 53
  • HashiCorp Terraform (Enterprise preferred), Consul and Vault.
  • Experience of automating docker based environments, Kuberneties, Openshift, ECS

Desirable Skills

  • AWS solution architect –
  • Lambda functions
  • Linux – Bash scripting
  • API interaction in a scripting language with data manipulation; python, groovy
