SSOE is looking to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer. The successful candidate will have experience in executing design projects for industrial facilities, semiconductor fabs, manufacturing, and/or similar environments, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and collaboration. You will be able to work within an established framework to complete tasks within the defined scope, schedule, and cost of the project. You will have the ability to take on projects of increasing complexity and scale. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with other engineering disciplines, sometimes across multiple offices.
Design, review, and approve electrical designs for primary and secondary (Low voltage) normal power distribution systems, emergency power distribution systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and associated power distribution systems with emphasis on facility redundancy and reliability.
Experience with auxiliary systems including grounding, lighting, lighting controls, generators, UPS, battery systems, photovoltaic systems, lightning protection, fire alarm, early warning smoke detection, gas monitoring, leak detection, security and telecommunications systems.
Provide instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and assistance in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
Coordinate needs and develops an understanding with other design disciplines (Mechanical, Structural, Architectural) for design package needs. Ensure quality control by complying with team design and CAD standards.
Collaborate with design team, project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to lead effort for the development of electrical design packages on new construction/renovation projects
Direct, mentor and coach junior engineers and designers
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
A licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required
Familiarity with applicable codes & standards, including the National Electrical Code
Demonstrated technical experience in industrial and advanced tech facilities preferred, extensive experience in commercial power distribution design will also be considered
Ability to lead a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers
