Cardno is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant/Senior Project Manager to join the Cardno team in Edmonton. The ideal candidate will have prior experience providing Project and Client Management within single Corporate Client Program setting and with multiple individual clients. The project manager will be responsible for project setup, delivery, controls as well as serve in a business development/client satisfaction function when the need arises.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
> Project setup, project delivery, project controls, business development, client satisfaction, contract management, and profitability.
> Initiates, prepares and reviews proposals.
> Serves as a representative of Cardno at client meetings.
> Interface with clients to ensure needs are met and projects/proposals are moving forward.
> Prepares project deliverables and project related correspondence.
> Responsible for accuracy, timeliness and financial performance of assigned projects.
> Manages client contracts, including fee estimation, project set-up and execution of work under senior management supervision.
> Establishes and maintains quality assurance plans and health and safety plans and/or emergency response plans for assigned projects.
> Prepares work plans, assembles project team, delegates tasks and ensures compliance with scope and timely completion of tasks.
> Reviews and approves design calculations submittals, specifications and other submittals
>Scheduling of field staff and subcontractors.
> Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental, or related field required.
> Prior experience providing Project Management to large Energy, Oil and Gas and/or Industrial clients in Canada.
> Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a professional services setting.
> Experience in leadership, project management, staff supervision, and client management.
> Strong written and oral communication.
> Attention to detail and accuracy.
> Proficient in common desktop packages, i.e. Word, Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint.
> Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual field-related technical problems.
> Work in cooperation with a multi-disciplinary project team to complete projects incorporating environmental permitting, site assessments and remediation, environmental auditing, reclamation, environmental liability and risk assessment.
> Experience working with and creating standard operating procedures and H&S procedures.
> Knowledge of provincial and federal legislation, regulation, and codes of practice in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
> Understanding of the Alberta Environmental regulations such as Tier 1 and Tier 2 guidelines.
> Understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/Possess a safety conscious attitude.
> Professional certifications (Professional Engineer, Geologist, C.E.T., CHMM, and PMP) preferred.
> Previous experience in an internal Client programs or business line supervision.
