SUMMARY AND ROLE INFORMATION

With the market convergence of RPA, workflow management, process analytics and collaboration solutions, business process automation is entering a new era: The age of Hyperautomation. For SAP, it’s one of the most strategic areas of investment. In this role, you will be part of the team driving the product development and go-to-market of SAP’s new hyperautomation solution.

As a Staff Backend developer, you will spend most of your time writing code but you will also be a technical leader that should help bring our team and architecture to the next level.

• You are a great software developer that can dive deep and solve complex problems
• You can understand how the various services and components connect and interact
• You can identity the problems with the current architecture, create a plan and lead the delivery of the technical changes needed to solve them
• You have experience influencing software engineering best practices across development teams, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, security and operations
• You can mentor junior engineers and help them improve their technical skills
• You can align with other teams and agree on the interface for the integration between the microservices.

EXPERIENCE/ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Required skills

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Expert Typescript and NodeJS knowledge
• Expert SQL knowledge
• Excellent English skills

Preferred skills

• MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience with Kubernetes deployment and monitoring
• Experience with event-based software architecture, Event Sourcing and CQRS
• Experience with Functional Programming
• Experience with microservice architecture

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 7+ years of experience of software development experience
• 2+ years of experience being involved in architecture decisions
• 1+ years of experience working in a role as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Lead Engineer or Architect
