What you’ll do

As a seasoned Project Manager, you will coordinate all aspects of service & delivery offerings on implementation of SAS solution, particularly risk & fraud solutions. You will be responsible for all aspects of project management: the direction, planning and budgeting, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of specific projects while ensuring consistency with SAS’ overall strategy, commitments, and goals. you will be a customer liaison and consultant on projects to assure success throughout the entire customer life cycle. You will also interact with external clients/customers, staff, management, and applicable departments at SAS

In this position, you ensure the delivery of services projects are on track and opportunities or escalations are acted on. As overall project leader you are responsible for aligning the project scope with the strategic objectives and making recommendations for necessary strategic adjustments. You act as main advisor to the SAS management teams and develop and improve project processes and metrics that enable our internal teams to successfully implement new technologies and solutions

In addition to managing an implementation, this role will assist the consulting team with its responsibilities in presales and proof of concept efforts, and service effort estimates related to SAS solution to be implemented.

You will:

  • Demonstrate leadership in delivering SAS solutions and implementations to customers.
  • Act as the primary Professional Services delivery trusted partner for customers through-out the project; focused on building and developing strong relationship, resolving issues, and influencing future business by playing key role in setting a vision to the customer. Establish and maintains relationships with third parties/ vendors
  • Own and manage either a single major or portfolio of differing projects across one or more accounts, and industry sectors.
  • Define statements of work and project charters, risk and mitigation assessments.
  • Lead and coordinate project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management, progress reporting, troubleshooting, and people management. Be planning multiple large and complex projects (agreeing realistic expectations of timeframes, costs, risks, resource requirements and deliverables with client). Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track project progress.
  • Apply the best suitable Project Management methodology for the solution implementation and customer situation. Leverage methodologies, enablers and best practices to accelerate project delivery. Ensure quality assurance are developed for the project.
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff while managing resource availability and allocation. Identify and match skills of project team members with the implementation requirements and tasks, including subcontractors if required, and verify that team members know and understand their assignments. Identify, document and escalate any performance issues and skills deficiencies of members of the project team to the appropriate management team.
  • Have full ownership of the success of projects, delivering solutions on time, within budget and profit and loss targets and in accordance with customers’ requirements for quality and functionality. Communicate and track regularly on the status of project goals by ensuring project results meet requirements regarding quality, reliability, schedule, and cost
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders through strong governance processes, appropriate expectation management, robust change management principles and implemented clear communication plans. Communicate the role of the project manager to the project team and client by outlining authority, decision and communications chains.
  • Provide leadership and drives customer success while overcoming barriers and satisfying staff, management and stakeholder commitments. Motivate the team through various and best suitable leadership styles.
  • Resolve any conflict between the project and other organizational units in a satisfactory manner, including engaging management as necessary. Design and facilitate internal and external workshops and meetings for optimized outcome.
  • Provide direction and support to project team to ensure accomplishment of agreed upon goals, objectives, and deadlines. Communicate project goals to those outside the project and engages management or leadership in other units as needed to ensure customer success.
  • Report on progress of project to all stakeholders by presenting reports defining project progress, problems and solutions. Maintain an accurate project plan, adheres to deadlines and communicates weekly project status reports, issues, alerts, sign-offs and closure to the team, management and the customer. Facilitate client/customer steering committees related to the broader aspects of the program/project being implemented.
  • Own the financial aspects of the projects, maintenance of the planned profit margin and ensuring billing revenue is accurately forecasted and processed. Monitor performance and recommend schedule changes, cost adjustments and resource additions. Monitor /manage subcontractor expenses.
  • Forecast revenue and resource requirements for the duration of the project.
  • Follow established change management procedures should project plans or schedules be adjusted.
  • Complete engagement/project summary, project closeout procedures and skills inventory updates at end of project.
  • Assure overall customer satisfaction through project health checks, surveys and delivery excellence agreements, determination and attainment of project success criteria, engagement and discussions with customers and leadership.
  • Oversee knowledge management activities of the delivery team using knowledge server or comparable tool.
  • Support our sales organization and engagement managers when engaging with customers in defining new deliveries. Identify new services opportunities within the account or program and communicate to the appropriate SAS management team(s)
  • Assist in the response to RFIs and RFPs, utilizing the RFP Repository and coordinating the consulting resources that are providing the technical information. Help services team craft consolidate work estimates, solution architectures, proposals, from SMEs and develop project plans. Complete risk assessment documents for projects, meeting articulated criteria (sizeable financial concerns, heavy use of subcontractors, implementation of new solutions, etc.)
  • Understand win/win negotiation principles.
  • Prepare high-level project plans to satisfy customer requirements to close deals, identify potential implementation options and provide recommendations on implementation approaches.
  • Perform analysis of business and user needs, document requirements, determine a strategy and develop a plan/proposal for delivery of the project which leads to a client's adoption and improved efficiency or effectiveness.
  • Advise clients on solution adoption and integration into business processes based on a solid understanding of client businesses, industries, regulatory environments, and markets.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.

What we’re looking for

The successful candidate will have experience or background in financial services/banking/insurance, PMO and some technical expertise in implementing SAS solution, including an awareness of the following:

  • Experience with technical and business approaches and solutions related to general business intelligence/analytics/data integration/data warehousing.
  • Have minimum 10 years of experience in implementing complex software solutions in different companies.
  • Have great experience in traditional Project Management methodologies and are strong in agile methodologies to lead and coach both your team and the customer.
  • Gets motivated as project manager for both smaller projects as well as big and complex projects.
  • Have great and proven people management skills.
  • Ability to lead project teams, gain consensus and mediate conflict

  • 8+ years’ experience within a financial service institution (insurance or bank), or consulting/accounting/audit firm, or system integrator, or other software companies as project manager, technical leads, PMO. Experience as a Project Manager in a software development environment in external, customer-facing project management role.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in relevant field in Economics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business or other quantitative field/engineering.
  • Microsoft Project proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Project Management practice procedures and tools.
  • Good problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand and translate complex technical and business information to internal/external audiences.
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle.

The nice to haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience working with SAS Risk Solutions and SAS Programming.
  • Good domain and industry expertise as well as an understanding of SAS organization.
  • Good understanding of international standards such as IFRS17, LDTI, Solvency II.
  • Experience with full-cycle project management of software development projects in a hosted/cloud environment.
  • Good knowledge of banking fraud detection system, including payment fraud such as real time credit/debit card fraud, digital channel payment fraud and/or non-payment fraud such as internal fraud or application fraud in banks.
  • Familiar with payment processing and transactional fraud detection technology.
