Reporting to the CIO, the candidate will be responsible for investment strategy formulation and implementation to meet company objectives. This role demands a close involvement with fund managers, risk management and market analysis.
Prepare presentation and reports for Investment Committee, Asset Liability Management Committee or other related Committees
Analyze new products and asset classes (including derivative hedges) and provide guidance and advice for new product approval process to different departments
Make presentation to senior management on new product ideas and seek approvals.
Lead outsourcing project for segregated account with external asset managers. Conduct operational due diligence, negotiation of commercial contracts (including management fees and service level agreements), coordinate legal reviews, related party transaction approvals, develop performance benchmarks and perform full annual reviews on external partners
Serve as the department's operational risk manager and oversee the department's processes, procedures and compliance manuals and governance structure
Recommend co-mingled fund products or ETFs to best reflect the asset allocation view
Maintain regular meetings with investment managers and ongoing portfolio review
Liaise regularly with senior internal stakeholders including the Senior Management, Actuarial, Finance and Risk Management departments
Coordinate in internal and external audit examination
Assist in annual investment plan, performance benchmark and key risk indicator settings.
Assist in asset-liability management projects and formulate investment strategy that complies with risk-based capital regime and IFRS 9 and IFRS 17
At least 10 years of work experience in life insurance or asset management company
Strong sense of initiative and accountability and the capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Innovative, good presentation skills and the ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese
