Oracle is seeking candidates for a Senior Manager for Cloud Engineer positions with our OCI Engineering team. The Senior Manager would lead a team of highly skilled Senior engineers to help move Oracle’s customer base to OCI. OCI is the next generation cloud service built from the ground up to support the most demanding application requirements addressing a wide range of customer use cases. The team of Cloud Engineers are responsible for the application modernization and migration technology strategy. You will be working closely with Oracle Sales and leadership to develop new business as well as to position the solutions at the heart of the largest transformations, including focusing on solutions based on OCI’s Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings.
Cloud Solution Engineers are deeply technical individuals who are responsible for both explaining and showing how Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure Solutions solve the customers real-world business challenges. They work with Cloud Architects to help design the solution and then continue to work with the customer on the realization and implementation of these solutions.
Responsibilities include: External:
Lead discussions with Oracle Customers to modernization and move custom applications on-premise to Oracle Cloud
Partner with customers to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architecture using OCI.
Own and progress opportunities through the qualification, definition, proof/evaluation, proposal and closure stages of the sales cycle with attention to timelines.
Respond to the functional and business requirements and capabilities sections of Request for Information (RFI) / Request for Proposal (RFP).
Listen, understand, and analyze the Customer’s business requirements and compose, validate, and present the best possible OCI solution.
Define the prospect’s target architecture that fulfils their business objectives. Work with the Account Executive to structure the proposal that meets the prospect’s target architecture.
Define Proof of Concept (POC) / Proof of Value (POV) or custom demonstration scenarios and map functions of OCI capabilities to prospects’ needs.
Qualify, scope and lead execution of Migration/Implementation Delivery for Customers
Lead teams of Cloud Engineers to drive Customer’s journey from first pitch to production on Oracle Cloud
Act as a technical liaison to customers and partners.
Establish trusted relationships with customers and understand their objectives. Solicit and provide product feedback from customers
Participate in meetings and conferences with customers and partners to serve as a liaison between Oracle internal organizations such as Product Development, Support Organization, etc.
Help drive local Customer connects in India for North America Customers.
Work with Oracle product management, sales leadership, and engineering leaders to develop new programs and go to market sales plays to drive more demand for OCI
Engage with Product Management to participate in the authoring of early stage materials (presentations, solution white papers, customer success stories, and marketing decks) and related business solution demonstration scenarios that highlight Oracle’s capabilities.
Advise internal management on the technical and business strategy within active deals.
Maintain alignment with Marketing and Product Management of existing and future platform capabilities and help drive product innovation.
Keep up to date with any new OCI solutions across the business units. Understand functionality and interoperability of OCI.
Be a Go-To Person on competitive information for Products and Verticals.
Exchange best practices and share knowledge within Solution Architect and Cloud Engineer Community.
Guide Solution Architects and Systems Engineers in Technical and Business challenges.

Management and Leadership experience managing highly skilled and complex teams driving Cloud Consumption on Public Cloud Offerings
10+ years’ experience engaging with industry senior leaders (CxO & Director level) on business challenges. Able to listen and analyze a Customer’s requirements and present a compelling business value message of a solution.
Demonstrated ability to present functional business processes and challenges into technology solutions to executive levels with a focus on solution selling.
Provide technical leadership on OCI Cloud Solutions
Ability to craft, review and augment POC documents, Statements of Work, and various project plans involving Oracle technologies and OCI
Broad background in leading Digital Transformation projects and initiatives end-to-end
Strong experience in Architecting Cloud Solution and delivery of large scale Cloud Migrations/Implementations on Public Cloud platform
Significant C-level presentation expertise.
Consulting role experience including business development, mentoring, technology solutions development and relationship management.
Technical skills and experiences:
10+ years of relevant IT experience, comprising of hands-on engineering and people management is a must
Extensive experience on Public Cloud Platform(OCI/AWS/Azure/GCP) with Architect Associate level Cloud Certification is a must
Strong people, process and business development management experience
Strong Communication, Collaboration and Stakeholder Management experience
Hands-on prior experience on Oracle Database and at least one Oracle ERP suite like E-Business Suite/Peoplesoft/J.D. Edwards is a must
Sound understanding and experience in managing RDBMS systems, including Oracle Databases and other non-Oracle RDBMS systems
Experience in migrating and managing large ERP systems on Public Cloud
Experience in Building and managing Linux OS systems with good understanding how the Linux kernel works (IO, Network, etc.)
Experience in Building and managing Virtualized systems (KVM, OVM, Containers/Docker)
Systematic problem-solving approach combined with a strong sense of ownership and drive.
Strong track record of implementing automation in migration, implementation and operational activities for deploying and managing ERP systems on Public Cloud.
Additional skills preferred:
Scripting/coding skills (Shell, Perl and Python). Knowing Java, REST Architecture and JSON is a plus
Education and Certification:
Bachelor level or higher degree in Computer Science, CIS, Informatics, Mathematics, Engineering or other relevant discipline.
Cloud Architect Associate certification on any Public Cloud Platform (OCI/AWS/Azure/GCP) is a must
Regular work timings are adjusted to 2-11pm IST to cover North American customers.
Provides direction, leadership, and specialist knowledge to Cloud Solution team in designing, demonstrating and deploying Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Guides team to drive Oracle Cloud customer consumption through accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services.
Responsible for managing resources that work with customers, sales, engineering, and product teams to design and implement cloud solutions for customers. Establishes business objectives, metrics and plans to ensure attainment. Provides leadership on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. May deliver presentation demonstrations to high level customers and at conferences and events. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies. Manages the implementation of solutions and ensures successful deployments by providing direction on code development and scripting. Oversees the support of customers from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services, management of resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Acts as spokesperson for Oracle cloud and an escalation path for relationships.
Minimum qualifications include: 7 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic. Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 7 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. 3 or more years of previous relevant technical management experience with computer applications and tools. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 8 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.
