We are looking for a highly experienced Financial Crime specialist to work closely with the designated Group Operations business team, Enterprise Services Business Control and Group Financial Crime teams, to lead activities associated with Financial Crime risks – AML/CTF, Sanctions, FATCA/CRS and Anti-Bribery & Corruption.

How will I help?

In this role you will be responsible for embedding the enterprise FCC framework into the Group Operations business team, which will require an understanding of the following:

  • Risk Management Framework and Governance
  • Program, Policy, Regulatory Change and Engagement
  • Know Your Customer (KYC), Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD) & On-going Customer Due Diligence (OCDD) principles
  • Transaction Monitoring
  • Risk Assessments
  • Customer and Payment Screening
  • Regulatory Reporting
  • Employee due diligence
  • Training & Culture
  • Controls Testing and Self Assessments
  • Third Party Risk Management
You will also take accountability in identifying, evaluating, owning and managing the risks and compliance obligations within the business and as such; have primary accountability for:
  • monitoring and ensuring the adequacy of its financial crime controls
  • monitoring adherence to Enterprise FCC frameworks and policies;
  • monitoring the performance of financial crime activities performed by Group Operations on behalf of other Westpac divisions;
  • remediating incidents and issues where required; and
  • support ongoing change management activities in relation to Financial Crime
What do I need?  
  • Background in promoting and strengthening a Financial Crime risk awareness culture
  • Deep experience, knowledge and SME support related to Financial Crime, Operational Risk or Compliance discipline
  • Proven experience (5+ years) working in a Senior Manager capacity within large, complex environments, ideally within Financial Services.
  • Extensive experience in identifying and communicating risks in business process improvement / re-engineering;
  • Effective management and delivery of senior manager activities, governance and oversight in a business process and risk-oriented projects.
