Job Summary

A key member on our Customer Analytics team who will strongly influence business decisions by helping to develop and institutionalize a data-driven approach to value management. The incumbent will work closely with the business units across Asia and other functions in the Group office including Customer Strategy and Engagement, Propositions, Retention, Marketing, Digital, Operations and Sales. His/hers primary role will be  the development of data analytics and propensity modelling solutions to help the businesses on key initiatives to improve retention, increase acquisition, x-sell, and up-sell  efficiency, improve business performance, and provide better customer experience through enhanced engagement.


  • Develop predictive models to optimize business results for different areas of the organization;
  • Use data analytics to help in-country marketing, customer and sales departments to improve sales effectiveness in different touch points;
  • Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations, and influence the direction of the business of cross functional groups;
  • Create compelling business presentations to explain to the business units the main insights of the developed propensity models;
  • Analyze data from corporate solutions, bank partners and vitality business for profiling customers and Identify business opportunities;
  • Develop propensity models for identify customers more likely to purchase insurance products for the bank assurance business;
  • Work with the digital information from AIA websites to track customer journey and identify opportunities for x-selling and better servicing the customers;
  • Explore alternative sources of information, such as social media, blogs, mobile to understand customer behavior and find market opportunities;
  • Manage in country strategic initiatives related to model development, and work closely to the country to guarantee the correct and timely implementation;
  • Track the results of the implemented models to validate the effectiveness of them and show the financial benefits to the organization;
  • Create proper presentation and documentations of all analytical solutions developed;
  • Provide training to analytics resources in the countries on model development, and share best practices  and innovative solutions


  • Bachelor’s degree in a numerate discipline e.g. Actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science with a strong computer programming component;
  • At least 8 of years working experience, ideally with experience in predictive analytics;
  • Tenacious, with a desire to ‘get to the bottom’ of things with sound logical reasoning and deep thinking ability
  • Exposure to all stage of data analytics project lifecycle (identification, extraction, loading, transforming/shaping, analysing, developing and tracking) ;
  • Demonstrable understanding of data quality risks and ability to carry out necessary exploratory data analysis and  quality checks to validate results obtained;
  • Proven hands-on experience in the use of at least one advanced data analysis platform (e.g. SAS, Python, R);
  • Sound knowledge of programming in SQL or other programming experience;
  • Articulate, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Adaptable, able to interact and build strong relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds;
  • Fast learner with a willing attitude. Intellectually rigorous, with strong analytical skills and a passion for data;
  • Experience in big data environment and tools such as Hadoop, Hive, Datameer is a plus
