We now have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to become part of our winning team.
The role of Senior Network Engineer (operational team) performs a critical role within the NEC Network Services Team; as a Level 3 engineer this role is essential in the supporting of complex networks and network services to NEC customers.
Key responsibilities include:
Support services for large, mixed-technology, multi-protocol, multi-vendor network environment
Implementation of moderate to complex customer network changes for incident resolution
Assist where required with the generation of Network Design’s for new installations and upgrades
Familiarity with ITIL based change management process
Maintain accurate records of all operational assets (hardware, software)
Liaise as required between the Delivery team, Professional services, Solution Architects and OEM’s on the implementation & support issues that may arise
Resolving complex network incidents
Working with other teams to troubleshoot complex multi-vendor, multi-technology high impact incidents.
Mentoring of Junior Network Engineers
Completion of all work in line with relevant NEC processes and procedures
Knowledge, skills and experience relevant to this role:
Over 6 years of hands on experience in deploying and supporting complex data and wireless solutions
Outstanding time management skills and attention to detail - ability to manage and prioritise multiple workloads in a deadline driven environment
Ability to effectively contribute to a team environment and also work autonomously when required
Adhere to correct policies and procedures to ensure consistent service delivery
Extensive experience in working within a Project Management Framework
Experience using and understanding of troubleshooting methodologies
Extensive experience troubleshooting and deploying MPLS, BGP and OSPF protocols
Proven ability to build effective working relationships with customers and internal staff
Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to communicate to a diverse audience
Working within a well-defined ITIL process framework
Bachelor of IT (Networks), Bachelor of Engineering (Telecommunications & Networking) or equivalent
Completion of relevant certifications such as: CCIE Routing and Switching, CCNP Data Centre, CCNP Wireless, CCNP Voice, Cisco ISE, JNCIA-JUNOS, JNCIS-ENT , JNCIP-ENT , HP ATP – FlexNetwork Solutions, BMC Remedy, Aruba (Switching, Mobility, Clearpass)
ITIL V3 Foundation certification
