To strategically source goods and services, manage the supplier base, and oversee and support the purchasing processes for the assigned category / region ensuring the business achieve their sourcing requirements. 
  • To derive best value for dunnhumby by leveraging global processes and economies of scale, and realise the procurement value proposition with regards to price, quality and timescales.  
  • Determine the sourcing requirements for the assigned category / region in partnership with the business, ensuring requirements are well defined, and in line with strategic plans and budgets. Create and deliver the annual global plan for the assigned category or region, including initiatives and projects to increase value and realise savings.
  • Define and own the portfolio of standard goods and services procured in the assigned category or region and oversee the set-up of respective smart forms and catalogues. Regularly review the supply market for the assigned category / region to identify opportunities and risks for dunnhumby.
  • Undertake best practice sourcing management for the assigned category or region, choosing the appropriate route to market (auction, competitive/ restricted tender), preparing brief and bid documents, managing the supplier selection process and pricing analysis, and assessing supplier capability, capacity and financial standing. Negotiate terms, conditions and pricing with legal and stakeholder support and ensure value for money and most appropriate commercial relationship and pricing model. Ensure that products and services can be delivered within timescales, specifications, dependencies and obligations clearly defined.
  • Analyse category spend to identify trends and leverage global scale. Ensure savings achieved are credible, verifiable and reported against targets. Liaise with budget holders to ensure savings are rigorous and effective.
  • Develop, expand and consolidate the supplier base for the assigned category or region, to optimise services and value. Manage individual suppliers on a commercial basis, including contract renewals and re-negotiations and periodic reviews of supplier performance in partnership with the business, to ensure quality and cost targets are achieved. 
  • Review requisitions for the assigned region / category where procurement review is required, and create purchase orders (POs) for non-catalogue procurement within agreed service levels. Provide advice and support for business requestors and approvers. Review open POs on an ongoing basis and ensure PO aging is within agreed targets. 
  • Support the promotion of procurement processes and the value proposition within the business and drive adherence to policy by monitoring buying behaviours and educating business contacts and stakeholders. 
  • Supports the continuous improvement of processes, systems, and standards required to ensure an efficient and best-practice procurement function.
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers on issue resolution and joint continuous improvement initiatives.


  • At least 2 years  of experience in international procurement organisation. CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) / ISM (Institute for Supply Management) or equivalent business qualification.
  • Bachelor degree in relevant subject
