Position Description
Concur, a part of SAP, imagines the way the world should work, offering cloud-based services that make it simple to manage travel and expenses. By connecting data, applications and people, Concur delivers an effortless experience and total transparency into spend wherever and whenever it happens. Concur services adapt to individual employee preferences and scale to meet the needs of companies from small to large, so they can focus on what matters most. The company serves more than 30,000 clients representing more than 27 million users in over 150 countries.
Sr Product Manager, Itinerary Services
Transform Itinerary Services into a unified store for all itineraries as the foundation for product innovations such as TripLink, and integrations with TripIt and Hipmunk.
There is an incredible transformation happening in global business travel today. Industry data shows that 40-50% of employee business travel is booked outside of corporate travel systems, and this number will likely go up over time. This poses a major challenge for travel managers: If they don’t have visibility to these bookings, they cannot enforce policy or live up to their duty of care responsibilities.
Concur TripLink is solving this problem, extending the value of corporate travel programs to all travel and capturing up to 100% of travel reservations, no matter where they are booked. In this role, you will directly contribute to the success of Concur Travel by leading the Itinerary Services team. You will integrate across the entire suite of Concur’s products (e.g., Online Booking Tool, Request, Risk Messaging, TripIt, Hipmunk, and Expense), integrate with major travel suppliers (e.g., American Airlines, Lufthansa, British Airways, Hertz), and help innovate how business travel is managed in an industry that is becoming increasingly complex. You will directly contribute to Concur’s vision of the Perfect Trip and the Expense Report That Writes Itself by being a key point of integration between Concur Travel and Concur Expense.
In the first 12 months you will deliver:

  • Product innovation: You will support high visibility and strategic product innovations such as integrating with TripLink suppliers, and extending the Request product to bookings made outside the Online Booking Tool via TripLink.
  • Engineering and operational excellence: You will help define the architectural vision for Itinerary Services and guide the team through a microservice based re-architecture. You will drive the team to put in place logging, dashboards, metrics and alarms to improve monitoring.
  • Data quality improvements: Today, travelers may book in Concur Travel, on a TripLink supplier site, or forward itineraries to plans@tripit. You will define and execute concrete strategies to measure and improve data quality for downstream services such as TMCs (Travel Management Companies) and Risk Messaging.

    Position Requirements
In order to accomplish this you will need to:

  • Drive the long-term vision, influence externally and internally at all levels, and secure buy-in. Develop long term product strategy (18-month roadmap), and clear and actionable 30/60/90 day plans in an agile environment.
  • You will champion easier integration of third-party partners with Concur’s public Itinerary API and be passionate about external documentation that can be consumed by developers at third-party partners, e.g., Swagger.
  • Develop a deep understanding of existing integrations of Concur’s suite of products with Itinerary Services and drive meaningful improvements.
  • Extend Itinerary Services to store all things related to a trip as the foundation of product innovation such as meetings-based search.
  • Work with development teams to make agile trade-offs between backlog items and support issues, and to overcome technical constraints.
