Maxeon Solar Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Product Marketing Manager

For this role we are looking for a savvy, talented and customer-centric marketer with the ability to make the complex simple.  Your knowledge of marketing fundamentals and your focus on customer needs will help us translate industry-leading advantages into bold and inspired strategies and execution.  We are looking for someone who will shape the future of product marketing at Maxeon as we bring to life our strategy to expand our product offering “beyond the panel”. 

This position is responsible for carrying out key activities to ensure that our product launches are aligned with market needs around the world  The ideal candidate will possess a background in product and market research, a strong business acumen, the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-changing environment, and a passion for solar technology, sustainability and innovation. This position will report to the Brand and Product Marketing Director and will work as part of a cross-functional group to deliver best in class product solutions to our customers and installation partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Develop market intelligence to characterize who are our buyer personas and influencers, how they buy and their key buying criteria.
  • Develop and maintain insights on the competitive landscape and how competing products are positioned.
  • Collaborate with product management and regional marketing leaders to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas.
  • Understand and document our customers’ process, including where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind the decisions they make. Then drive changes to our sales and marketing processes based on what you learn.
  • Plan the launches of net-new products and releases of existing products and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
  • Act as the primary thought leader for the products you support externally, including speaking engagements and written works.
  • Understand and support our sales channels; train them on the problems we solve for our sales & installation partners, distributors and end customers; develop internal tools and external collaterals and teach them how and when to use it.
  • Build and lead the global product marketing and training organization
  • Act as the single point of contact for product marketing projects.
  • Consistently reflect the brand through product naming, positioning and marketing.
  • Refine and implement formal launch and sustaining processes for SunPower products with clear roles and responsibilities between the product, sales and marketing functions at Maxeon Solar Technologies.
  • Define the value prop of new products and help shape and expression for our “beyond the panel” vision.
  • Own the marketing technology proof point data.
  • Manage cross-functional teams through product launches and go to market campaigns.  Take a leadership role in defining the culture and team spirit of these groups.
  • Conduct product positioning and value proposition creation for each line of product.
  • Maintain product marketing launch roadmaps.
  • Drive the creation and maintenance of customer facing sales tools that differentiate our company in the marketplace using third party research including product videos, web content, sales presentations, spec sheets, white papers and brochures.
  • Work with the digital marketing and corporate communications teams to grow the importance of PR and digital product marketing as part of our integrated marketing efforts. 

Qualification requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing; MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of product marketing experience with at least 5 years of experience in a market-facing role (e.g. delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis and market research) and managing teams
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is –or isn’t—working.
  • Must be a strong public speaker, comfortable in front of large, senior groups, and a solid writer.
  • Experience working with technical products and concepts, ability to learn and adapt quickly, and ability to frame and drive business decisions
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and a “can do” attitude
  • Experience marketing and selling products to a channel network, distributors or to major retailers and online retailers.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to create and apply program timelines, interdependencies, budgets, and post program metrics
  • Proficient in productivity applications such as Microsoft Office, Project or similar.
  • Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Salesforce and Teams

Preferred requirements

  • Experience in solar, energy efficiency or IoT industry is a plus
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as a successful track record as a team player
  • A strong desire to be a part of a rapidly growing business with an opportunity to progress
  • English native or full business proficiency. At least full proficiency of a second language in a core market (German, Spanish and French preferred)

Work Location

The role will be remote and can be based in the following countries: France, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy
